Ok so im on my new desktop. I just recently upgraded to Win 7 SP1, in hopes that my desktop would be able to recognize the printer thats being shared, but it didnt find it. Any ideas?

Verify that the printer is on the network.

Try doing a force search for the printer by connecting printers/devices.

Out of curiosity, what printer is it?

Ive noticed that ever since I added Kaspersky, it hasnt allowed a connection. I did do some research & found that on some systems that Kaspersky did hinder it. Someone did remove Kaspersky from their system & they were able to get the homegroup working again. I have already sent a message to Kaspersky about the issue. Im hoping to hear something from them by Monday.

It sounds like Kaspervy is bl ocking the network. You would probably need to add it to the ignore list so that it would allow the printer again.

This is 100% true. Kaspersky sucks, limits you to certain functions and you lose your ability to fully utilize your system. I used to have it, full version, and it was nothing but junk.

I recommend using avast. The only thing that is annoying about it is the popups that come up when updates happen. Kaspersky sucks. AVG also does the same from what I have noticed. Some like to block connections that should not be blocked.
