overall our servers rock, but there's nothing more disappointing than playing a 30 minute game on warpath/badlands only to see it end in a stalemate... anyone else feel like it'd be nice to have OT as (melee) sudden death instead???

i actually think sudden death is one of the most fun aspects of tf2...

Agreed. Melee sudden death helps relief the frustrations of long stalemates.

I don't think it has to be melee only, but overtime on some maps would be a better than have a stalemate. It is such a let down after you work so hard to win.

Maybe. But lets not go on fixing what ain't broke. :)

Personally I think sudden death is a bit of a sad way to end a good fight. I like really earning my win, not getting lucky with a crit and killing half of their team.

And I don't think melee would be such a good idea, people may leave because they don't want to put up with it.

I think a good melee fight at the end would be a lot of fun and it would be a fairly quick round without respawn too. The survivors take all.

I personally vote for regular sudden death, not melee.
Melee is amusing, but sometimes it gets ridiculous
Regular sudden death would require skill, and it would be more fun than stalemate.

Just my personal thoughts

Purple Huskies made some great points. Personally, I don't mind sudden death--even if the win is based on luck, it doesn't bother me that much. Since messing around in clan events, I've really enjoyed melee. A sudden death melee might be a great way to have a lot of fun at the end of a tough match.

However, it's true that it might drive people away. In the end, it'll be in the hands of the council, but I think the suggestion is a very entertaining one.

Melee sudden death would be a lot of fun. I don't know how long that'd last, though, the fun might wear off.

I love the idea of sudden death. Honestly, if nobody's winning anyways, may as well just let everyone duke it out. Just to give someone the satisfaction of winning, if nothing else.

yeah.... i would still love to see this happen some day... my thinking is the same as purple huskies... warpath is such a long map ... 30 minute stalemates happen with enough frequency that it bugs me when it occurs. sudden death (melee or not) at least provides a last jolt of excitement ... even if you lose, i find it to be fun. ... and funny (if you do melee) :D....

the last reason i personally enjoy melee is bc it requires different skills/strategy than the regular weapons mode that caused the stalemate... winning at melee is not random, trust me, you'll know when you've met a good melee player.... i've seen a medic kill 7 people before. totally nuts, and another chance for good players to show it.

If we did melee sudden death, please, for the love of all thats holy and sacred, turn off crits. I dont know how many times on other servers I've been hit by lucky crits for instant kills. If we're all gonna use the same weapon, make it do the same damage every time.

Does sudden death have a time limit you have to kill everyone within? If not a lot of people will leave the server at the end because an engineer is camping in the base on each side and everyone will get tired of waiting for one to kill the other one and just go somewhere else. Unless they know in 2 minutes it's going to cycle on regardless. !mistrust
