On the fourth day of Caelmas, Caelestis gave to me...
...a festive Ubersaw!
We had some good entries today. Deep thanks to everyone who participated; a contest is only as good as the competition. Puliping and Mister36 definitely suffered at tonight's event when they were running after people, trying to kill them as Medics, but Mister36 took home the glory tonight. For that, he gets a festive Ubersaw. Isn't that jolly?
So, a lot of you have probably seen the servers take a beating in the past day or so. Let's mix things up by doing something away from TF2. This one's a special one. All you need to do is post a positive comment on a post on the Random, Nerdy, and Geeky blog. It could be any post. Just be sure that when you do, you identify yourself appropriately and pass a private message to me to let me know where you posted. It needn't be a lengthy post; it just needs to conform to eGO standards and not be something rude or dismissive. The winners will be determined at random from all commenters.
Yes, I said winners. For today, I will choose multiple winners, so your chances are very good that you will win!

It looks like five lucky winners found the golden tickets--er, keys today! All it took was a little chatting up on the Random, Nerdy, and Geeky blog. As you may well know, I am the director of the latest incarnation of the eGO podcast and I strongly encourage all of you to listen. I'm glad I've raised awareness about the blog; it updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Better still, if you want to blog for us, you can! Write to me with your article ideas and I'll put it on our blog.
Our winners are Nix, Gerbil, Fullmetal, Logic Overflow, and Maserati. The keys will be forthcoming (stupid TF2 putting a time-lock on tradable items), so hang tight. In the meantime, let's look at the sixth day. I am no fan of Spies, those malevolent backstabbers. Contemptible as they are, I admire their talent at having my back...with knives. My hat is off to them, truly, so let's hear it for those untrustworthy sons of guns.

...Payday 2 plus the Armored Transport DLC!
Spies. They're thieves but with class. Well, what is a better gift for a thief than the opportunity to commit high-profile thievery all the time? Espionage is srs bsns, you know, so this kind of work deserves something extra special: a copy of Pay Day 2 and the Armored Transport DLC to go with it. Our winner, by a slim margin, was Puliping. It looks like the special knife I gave him proved to be lucky after all!
What does the seventh day hold for you? A class I have always enjoyed, if not played nearly as much as I prefer, is Engineer. It probably has to do with A) my love of Lego bricks and B) how I once pub-stomped in Harvest with a single level 3 sentry, accumulating 71 kills. In fact, I was a pub myself at the time. I had just gotten the game, too. I'm sure, even then, there was some veteran of the game thinking, "This game is stupid! They may as well put rubber ducks in next!" Let's see how resourceful all you Texans at heart can be.
Get the most kills as Engineer. Sentry and/or mini-sentry kills do not count.
