I recently got a new mouse, the Razer Deathadder 3.5g. It works fine with every program except razer program's do not recognise the device. I installed the drivers for the mouse and says it does not detect it. The problem I found out is the firmware with the version being n/a . I tried downloading the firmware but according to the firmware I do not have the driver installed or the driver needs an update which to my knowledge doesn't because I downloaded it straight from the razer website.

Because of this problem I cannot edit my DPI or lighting.

Anybody have a clue what is going wrong here?

The best answer I was able to find was if you have another razer program installed, it's a similar situation to when you have two different antivirus programs installed; they cancel each other out and cause issues. You should uninstall any firmware you have for the mouse, including older, previously versions. Then try installing the correct firmware and see if that works.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get the mouse from? Amazon? Wal-Mart? Ebay?

A lot of products from razer do not get support with their "razer synapse" crap program. Trust me when I say you are not missing anything. They disable options for certain products like mice and keyboard. Stopping it from changing colors and restricted to DPI only.

I got the mouse from Amazon.

It looks like razer do not provide the firmware for the mouse anymore because when I click into the firmware tab nothing shows up

EDIT

Tried this but didn't work.

Sorry Conor. It looks like you're out of luck with Razer and no support. You can try contacting them directly via support as they're pretty good at responding to issues/questions within 2 business days. Dealing with my own RMA issue with them right now; I'm wondering if USPS screwed up my shipping somehow...

I've never heard of this issue before, I've never had a problem with my 3 deathadders, and 2 nagas.

Sent an email yesterday, lets hope they have an answer

Good luck with your own problems!

Considering you didn't tamper with the device, and it's most probably a fault with the board itself, they'll most likely send you another mouse. It sucks that you got one of the products that slipped past the tests, but oh well it happens. Just work with the company and they'll most probably help you out and get you a working mouse. Me personally, I've never had any issues, and neither have all of the people I've referred to them. Heck, I just bought the new Blackwidow Chroma, can't wait to have a blue razer product to match my computer :)

They probably wont do anything to be perfectly honest. The 3.5g is the old version of the Deathadder and uses an infrared laser that is scattered rather than an optical laser. They are most likely only going to support their newer products since the new deathadders all have 4G optical sensors. Correct me if I am wrong but I dont think you can change your DPI on the fly with an infrared mouse anywho? I dont know of any infrared mouse that allows such a thing.

Any response from razer?

After talking with Razer Support on the phone today, my mouse has a problem with its insides which I need to send back to the seller and get my money back so I can buy a new mouse which I am going to go for the Deathadder Chroma since its newer and I probably should of went for the newer model instead of one for 2006

Good! That's good news, the chroma is cool :)

After emailing back and forward with the seller, it turns out the mouse was a genuine fake unknown to the seller, Thank you for all your help!

Hey, atleast you're getting reimbursed. People jumped the gun too quickly and started saying this sort of thing wouldn't happen. I'm glad you didn't give up and got the response you wanted.

Crazy. I asked where you bought on the offchance it was from eBay, but when you said Amazon, I didn't think it would have been a fake. That was another common response when I was googling your issue.

Who said what sort of thing wouldn't happen?

Just FYI- The 3.5G isnt going to be supported regardless if you buy a real one or not. You should get a newer deathadder.

I was 100% sure my parents bought it on amazon because that's where I told them to get it, as soon as I heard it was from Ebay I knew by then it must be a fake, I just had to get an answer from rhe seller

Good news must go in clumps. I just got my replacement DeathAdder in the mail after waiting about 3-4 weeks from when I shipped it.
