[poll] ROCK2?!?!?!?!?!?!

The rock was one of my favorite TFC maps. If this is as good as that one, then I wouldn't mind seeing it in rotation somewhere.

Never played it, is it any good?
And the poll seems kinda biased ;)

Rock2 was my fav map in tfc.
its like 2fort but no bridge, and everytime you capped the intel, poison would be released mass killing everyone in 10 seconds, only way to survive would be to grab an oxygen suit (was only bout 2 or 3 suits for each base so not everyone gets one) or quickly get to the middle and dive into the water.
I loved the sniper and engi spots on that map.. picking off enemies was as easy as cake for the engi since you could build underwater

By biased you mean totally correct.

To sum it up for any team fortress NEWBS, Rock2 was a symmetrical TFC map similar to CTF, but not really. You had to infiltrate the enemy base, get past their large courtyard, and into their key room. You grabbed the key, and then had to haul it back across the courtyard and into the gas release chamber. Once inside you would initiate the nerve gas countdown: the control room's door would lock, sealing you safely inside, while outside a countdown would begin, signaling the doom of those caught outside. Small doors all over the map (both teams' sides) would open up, revealing hazmat suits that would protect you from the oncoming gas; if you didn't manage to get one of these before the countdown ended, you either dove into the moat in the middle of the map, or you were toast.

Adding to the complexity of the map were lots of ways to get into and around the enemy base. You could swim across the moat in the middle and go in their front door, or you could swim down into a cave that ran underneath their base. A demoman would need to use his detpack to blow this open, revealing the rest of the tunnel that split, one half going into their control room area, the other leading to their courtyard (this would also need to be detpacked open). Of course, once blown open, an enemy demo could always close the passageways again with their own detpack.

By far the best part of the map, though, was taking hazmat suits from other players at the last seconds of the countdown.

"lol sry dude"

I remember spawning as soon as someone capped was the god awful worst part of the game, cause you can never get from your base into the water fast enough, or some guy would just wait around and just grab the hazmat suit you want

VALVe? Messing up Badlands? They never did.
I have played both the TFC (on WON woot) and the TF2 versions of Badlands and I believe that Badlands TF2 TS BETTER!

It looks pretty good, reminds me of gas_kaboom, or whatever it was called. I'd be more then happy to see it on one of our servers. It gets my vote.

I checked it out yesterday; not a bad job at all considering it was apparently his first map. Very clever using the intel as the key. I do think it could use a little tweaking in areas, namely the hallways, which are very thin in places and would be soldier/demoman paradise--could prove to be a bit of a roadblock for attackers. Other than that it looks like a lot of fun.

I like how you can still blow a hole in the enemy's yard.
