S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat

Just downloaded this game the other day and played it.
I must say it is one hell of a game and I haven't even played more than 2 hours of it.
I've always been a fan of FEAR, Day Z, and Fallout but this game is like the product of all three.
It's an older game but I seriously love it so much.
Anyone else have good experiences with Stalker series?

If you really like it I would recommend downloading the Misery mod. It makes it much much harder, but I think it improves it. I've had the best experience with the game using that mod. If its not for you the basic game is still amazing.

Played all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R's and would personally say Shadow of Chernobyl (with restoration patches) is my favorite. The series is easily one of the greatest to come out of post 2003 gaming and was amazed at the detail and atmosphere created by all three. SoC also is one of the few games that can be as scary as System Shock 2.

I am currently installing Misery Mod actually, and I am downloading SoC too, because I watched some videos and I was generally creep'd out

I haven't used Misery, but I have used Stalker Complete 2009 and I love it. It makes the game a lot more user-friendly and really expands the whole experience.

BTW, SoC is the first one. Call of Pripyat is the sequel, and Clear Sky is the prequel. Parts of the game might make more sense if you play them in their release order. (original, prequel, sequel)

Misery mod is killer fun and you will die over and over. All three games are excellent. I have over 1000 hours on all three.

This series is so awesome. Truly classic and probably the best post apoc games ever made. Was extremely cutting edge in terms of tech as well (the A.I. holds up as top notch even when stacked against modern games).

Glad to see you're enjoying it! A lot of the devs went on to make Metro 2033 which are also great games, just not open world. But lots of STALKER homage in it.

I started off with Metro Last Light, and moved to 2033 then found STALKER. SoC is super hard, with complete 2009, and I love a challenge.

I love the Stalker series! My brothers and I have fond memories of it. If you have a friend, I recommend trying to find a coop mod!

I kind of put the series on hold for now, been playing a lot of Neverwinter/not really gaming on hold but I shall do so in the near future.
