This is a friendly PSA.
We want to see more members in TS. It's a great way to get to know your fellow members and leadership. It's also a great tool for getting help when needed or participating in events.
That said, we need a little reminder about respect and the rules. First of all, eGO's Code of Conduct does apply in TS as well.
Here are some other points to remember:
Swearing
Room 6 is our Rated R room. Moderate swearing is permitted in this room. This does not give you the opportunity to express your ability to talk like a sailor. Please don't abuse this privilege. Also take note that "swearing" does not include personal insults, attacks on others, bigoted remarks of any kind or abuse of any kind.
Respect
Please remember common courtesy and respect when using TS. Try not to talk over top of one another. I know this is difficult in a full room but please do your best to allow the natural flow of conversation. Don't hog the mic. Remember that we come from all over, with different backgrounds and controversial topics like political and religious conversations probably don't belong in TS, unless you're in a private room where you know all parties involved will not be offended or hurt by comments made.
Spamming
Please do not spam the TS rooms. Mic spamming, continuous playing of music, shouting, saying the same phrases over and over and over - these are all things that can be considered spam. If a lot of people are complaining about your actions, question whether or not you should be doing whatever it is that you are doing.
Bullying
Bullying takes many forms. Sometimes it is not as apparent as others. No one feels good about being picked last for dodge ball or to be ousted from the "cool kids" table at lunch. If a group of people all leave a TS room when one member joins, this is hurtful. Try to work out your differences. If the person is a legitimate problem, tell a leadership member. Otherwise, try to show more compassion and kindness. We are a mature gaming community. We should all act like it.
Drinking
Please drink and TS responsibly. Those who are of legal age are free to consume whatever spirits they desire. However, if you cannot control your loose tongue while intoxicated in TS, you might wake up with a hangover and a ban. We're not here to police members' consumption of alcohol but if you do it, please behave yourself. Remember, alcohol lowers your inhibitions and if you find your personal filter lacking, take your finger off the push-to-talk button.
Above all, be kind to one another. There is enough ugliness in the world. We don't need to bring it here. Let's play some games and have fun!
