New Hardware Need a new headset

I have had the Turtlebeach PX22 headset for quite a while and it is falling apart on me at the cable connecting to the headset and now I know that it is time to upgrade.

Recently purchased the Razer Blackwidow CHROMA and the Razer Deathadder CHROMA. The keyboard is nice and all but need to get used to...

I am debating to get the third piece of the puzzle if you can call it that and get the headset that is also chroma, but I have seen so many reviews of so many other headsets that I have no idea what to get.

My budget is about $100 or close to that, 20-50 more if it is needed for a good headset.

I'm going to quote a friend when I asked his advice on this same subject

let me give you some solid advice that pertains to headphones, headsets, and microphones.

It took me years to figure it out, but gaming headsets and headsets in general are a waste of time. They're gimmicky, and they don't sound as good as just a good pair of headphones. I've had Logitechs and Razers, and at the end of the day you're getting a cheap pair of headphones with pretty colors and a cheap microphone slapped onto it.

What you do is you get a nice pair of headphones, and an actual microphone.

What I did was buy a pair of these: Amazon.com: Creative Aurvana Live! Headphones: Electronics
Which sound incredible. Better than even the most expensive gaming headsets.
And one of these: Amazon.com: Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (Gloss Black): Electronics Snowball

It came out to about 130 dollars, and both sound far better than a gaming headset. I think this is the smarter way to go about things. Yes, the Creative headphones aren't surround sound and they don't come with crazy software, but I've had 7.1 gaming headsets in the past and these sound better and actually have better positioning anyways (I should mention my motherboard has virtual surround sound on-board). I mean, really, these things sound absolutely insanely good. Movies, games, all of that. They make my 7.1 Logitechs sound like an old car stereo. Not even kidding. And naturally the microphone is of way better quality than any headset mic.

So there you have it! My two cents.

I can back him up on this one, the only reason why I went with a headset vs headphones and a mic, is because I can walk around the house with it. I like having mobility.

Studio mics and a good pair of headphones is a much better option though. This option on the other hand is bigger and takes up room on your desk.
 
I was thinking of getting a pair that had a good amount of bass to them cause I like listening to songs that have some strong bass.

I have looked on youtube for a few that have good bass but in the end I don't know.

Definitely going to get that Snowball mic, looked only a little bit on a headphone/mic combo

UPDATE: I have checked on Youtube and I wanted headphones that had some good bass to them, those ones I think that I saw from the video are good.

Are there headphones better than the one that I posted latest.

I watched a youtube video about those headphones giving a good amount of bass and that is what I want, but I dont know if there are any others.
 
Yeah my budget is not that much.
I'll just have to wait and see, I am still trying to find a good headset with good bass.

My Turtlebeach PX22 has a bass boost and I really like it and most headphones dont have that.

Oh well, I will just have to figure it out.

best $100 headset on the market. No chroma, but you cant set it anyways as it it on your head :)

The cloud 9 hyper X are just a copy of Qpad headsets.. All of them have been and theyre all more expensive. If you want that hyper x headset get the QPAD QH-90's exactly the same, original creators and also better quality imo also cheaper in the UK for qpad not sure about US

pretty sure version 2 of hyperX headset has no differences compared to version 1 except for fake 7.1 with a sound card to come with it.. Qpad all the way.

Thanks for the suggestions but ill have to find something eventually.
The PX22s have great bass because of the fact that it has a function to change the bass.

When seeing the headphones I looked on youtube for the one that has the most bass and I came up with one but I don't know how good it is as there is no reviews for it.

Sorry for dragging on this thread, I really should have a choice of headset or headphone/mic combo but I have yet to find one.
