i have a program that cost 30$ called fraps for those of you who do not know what it is. i can record gameplay while using fraps. Is it ok if i start using it for random battles and events? cause i do not want it to go to waste. (you really think i would waste $30 on this? my bro bought it for his comp and sent me the file)

Just use the source recorder method, it involves a few extra steps but it's more efficient and produces nicer results in the end. Fraps recordings are huge and usually drop the framerate if you don't have a completely up to date machine. But it's good for random things that just happen that you'd like to record.

The full-version of fraps is an amazing program. I use it all the time for recording. Sure it costs a little dough (Unless you know your internet ;)) but it is worth it. I always get very high quality video and with few resources being used.

ew fraps boo.... dislike it a lot.... Even with well over a thousand dollars, up to date equipment and software Fraps STILL runs like poop. It seems to always start to lag after a while when you're trying to record.

from what i have encountered with fraps it was just a waste of time. I used it to try and record some WoW boss fights and it just didn't work well at all.

fraps is to laggy for me. and source recorder works but it wont save on a file and i cant put them on the web. im still goin to record the rumble some how. i dont even think i can go to the rumble but we will see.

Wow, PLEASE sp345: Tell me how you record sound in Fraps!! I don't know why it won't work... :(

i had just made a video with fraps. it has little lag or anything. the sound is good. i have the full version fraps. if u have a good comp i suggest fraps.

Fraps eh? Well, I got free fraps from a place... Where I don't really remember where, but it works really well. And yes it's the full version. Although, recording with FRAPS isn't recommended if you have lower than 10-40 FPS. It will kill your PC, with it's size and FPS killing technique.

when i record it is 10-40 fps. now it is working perfectly and im going to make a new video. probably saturday.

yes source is much better. but i cant use source because i dont have the video compression to finish the movie. im very mad cause i missed the rumble and i would of recorded it. it would of been a big video. besides i cant put source movies into windows movie maker. im still figuring out the problem. when i do i will start to use source.
