Morbid: Please post in this thread [link=http://www.edgegamers.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?17868 ]HERE[/link] There's already one of these ;D

Since Flippy kind of sideways asked about my name, I thought it would be fun for everyone to share how they go theirs'.

My name is Chris as I'm sure many of you know. My Dad gave me the nickname Bliss when I was young. One day, my cousin told me about this amazing thing called Electronic Mail! He sent me a 3.5" floppy in the mail to install this weird thing called Juno, a program that gave you a free Electronic Mail account.

When I signed up, I thought about how I heard that people online made fun names for themselves, so I combined my name with my nickname to get chrisbliss. I tried to get the [email protected] account, but it was taken. The first one offered to me was [email protected]. I took it, and I've been using the chrisbliss18 name ever since.

Years later, I was at college wasting time with a friend. We were checking out this new site that everyone was talking about. You may have heard of it. Google it was called, and it was supposed to be amazing. We tried throwing everything we could at it to see how well it found results. I remembered back to when I got my name and decided to see if I could find out why other people had used the name chrisbliss before I did. I searched "Chris Bliss" and found an amazing juggler turned political humorist. Visit him on his site chrisbliss.com, check out one of his amazing juggling acts, or check out one of his older comedy gigs.

A while back I thought of spinning up chrisbliss18.com, and I emailed him to ask permission to do so. He emailed back and told me it wouldn't be a problem. We actually emailed back and forth a few times. He's a really cool, down-to-earth guy. All to more reason to love and cherish my name. :)

So what stories do you guys have?

Here's mine. (Moose started a thread like this before.)

AfroNinja, if you're curious, came from watching Jim Kelly in Enter the Dragon some time in or around 1990. I was watching Jim fight, and I was suddenly compelled to exclaim, "He's the Afro-Ninja!" We laughed about it for so long that it stuck with me, and - until this clan - that was the name I always used. I'm starting to like Flippy better.

This makes the fourth name thread. :) But I'm not about to razz an eGO about it. ;)

Mine is much more simple......Scotmsman because my family background is Scottish, and the Mad part come from a very long list of nefarious happenings over a very intoxicated weekend in New Orleans.....I really do hope the tranny, the dwarf, and the goat have fully recovered :)

Third, maybe fourth thread of the type. It'll never die!

Pronounce my name phonetically, not like it's French or something. What did you come up with?

If you said Laugh-In-Ass you would be close to where my name come from. It's actually Lafin Ass as in Laughing Ass. Because, frankly, that's what I am. No single name could be more descriptive of me. I'm an ass that laughs at pretty much everything and everyone. So Lafinass.

That's been my gaming name for 12 years now.

There are even a few people in the real world who call me 'Lafi' because of it.

My name is a tribute to horror icon Michael Myers from the movie "Halloween". "The Shape", as credited in the film, refers to when his face is masked or obscured.

Ill lock this when I get home, but until then, we already have one of these. Read the first post for the link. ^-^

mine comes from when i played CSS and I use to be able to get a head shot with any gun so I make the name $}{@RP$}{0073R. then when I started enjoying snipers in TF2 I changed my name back to it.

Mine goes all the way back to when I was five. I used to have a pet hedgehog, and one time I went on some sort of retreat with some group I can't even remember. They all thought it was cool I had a hedgehog, and so they ended up calling me hedgehog man, that got shortened to hedgeman, and eventually, hedge. I guess the nickname stuck, because 12 years later, I still run into people that call me hedge, hah.
