Yes it's Spring Break finally, at least here in Payday 2 land as the SB festivities commence with a dokan!

Day 1: Heist Updates!

What's that mean? Why a few things my good madam/sir! Do you like cooking the cool blue crystal on Rats day 1? Well now there's a single day adventure where that's all you do! What about that pesky military train that you've never seen thanks to horrid blueprint drop rates from the Armored Transport heists? Single day job now!

And remember, this is just the first day of the week-long celebration, culminating with Hoxton's Revenge!

Day 2 means SIDE JOBS!

Basically the original game had little challenges you could do to get more XP (IIRC), and this basically tweaks it in and allows you to complete daily and weekly challenges in order to get things like cash and weapon mods for weapons of your choosing, and the weekly can net you Infamous stuff instead of a mod!

Thing is, neither are easy. They're not giving the rewards away for just doing an impromptu dance while Wolf shoots at your feet now! Examples include Daily challenges of "Hot Lava 2.0", where you have to use the computer on Day 1 of Election Day without touching the ground, and a weekly example being "Sewer Rats"...

Day 3 brings us tha wee lass 'erself, Bonnie!

Along with her comes her trusty "Joceline" the O/U 12g Shotgun, her mask (obviously), her melee (a Rivertown Glen Bottle, not kidding), and Gambler perk deck.

The deck apparently sounds like this:

Medical Supplies Ammo packs you pick up also yield medical supplies and heals you for #% to # health.
Cannot occur more than once every # seconds.

Ammo Give Out When you pick up ammo, you trigger an ammo pickup for #% of normal pickup to other players in your team.
Cannot occur more than once every # seconds.

Sharing Is Caring When you get healed from picking up ammo packs, your teammates also get healed for #% of the amount.

More Healing 1 Increase health gained from ammo packs by additional #%.

More Healing 2 Increase health gained from ammo packs by additional #%.

The Golden Grin Casino offers more than just cards and craps...

Yes, day 4 brings us the teaser for the upcoming Golden Grin Casino job in which we make the Ocean's movie franchise look like a walk in the park. The Benevolent? Pah, mere child's play. GGC's bigger, badder, and far more impressive.

And anyone who moseys up to a baccarat table and introduces themselves as "Bond, James Bond" gets a backhand from Chains.

Day 5 arrives with visions of leprechauns and shamrocks flooding the thoughts of our heisters... And who am I kidding, that freaking SWAT van turret just made them as swiss as cheese...

Yes the SWAT van turret 'enemy' has arrived, and it's your new worst nightmare. Able to be deployed on certain maps only, the new turret is basically an immobile Bulldozer. That fires (and I quote): "one thousand freedom per minute" so you know it's not asking for respect, it's demanding it. Good news? She can be destroyed, but it's not easy...

So you like fast cars eh? Well The Stig doesn't exactly take kindly to your threat to heist supercars, so we had to nick his helmet so he can't confront us anymore.

I present to you, The Tids!

The heist itself is much like Shadow Raid in that it's stealth-only (woot!) where you sneak around stealing cars and transporting them in order to get $$$$$. The more cars you filch (god I'm feeling British today...), the more cash you get. Simple, no?

Oh, and those cars? You're driving them to the dropoff point, so watch the paint job Houston!

Oof, while I absolutely loved Grand Theft Auto: DC Edition from yesterday's update, they've taken the cake for "most insane ideas ever" with today's...

Day 7 yields the Butcher mod pack #2, and upon booting the game up you get one free mod of whatever type the game chooses for you. All others have to be obtained via the daily and weekly challenges afterwards. Why is this so insane? Two words: "Silent OVE9000". Yes the freaking saw is getting mods, anything from a 'fast motor', to a 'silent motor', to more durable or sharper blades... Suddenly the saw can become a silenced weapon. Well, short of the screams of the guard you just ripped open with it obviously...

Also included are 3 new akimbo pistols (w00t!) and a slew of new custom reticles ranging from the traditional to the really, really unconventional (how about one which is basically flipping the bird at your target?). There's also some screwball achievements for you too, such as answering 4 pagers all by yourself within 90 seconds, to tagging the correct truck on day 1 of Election Day and leaving within 60 seconds of starting.

Ah, and don't forget to tie up that dang DJ in the Nightclub and take him with you to the escape van! Got to keep this party bus going!

I... I'm just so confused right now... Day 8 brings us another joint venture with... um... Well, they've added 4 new masks of characters from the game Speedrunners into Payday 2, and added Dallas, Wolf, Hoxton, and a Cloaker as playable characters into Speedrunners...

So, yeah... New masks...?

Remember though, tomorrow's the day when Hoxton starts up his inquisition and makes the traitor to the group pay for those two years in jail. And you can guarantee it'll be bloody...

/edit stuffs

Oh-kay... Apparently they forgot about the "free" aspect of this week...? Only if you buy Speedrunners can you use the masks in the game, so in essence it's a $10 mask pack that includes a game as well.

And Spring Break ends with a gigantic bloodbath as Hoxton puts a few hundred bullets into the traitor's spine (I'm guessing 730, one for each day in jail he spent due to this guy).

Coming in with two new masks (Hoxton Reborn Begins and The Hard Hat, which is basically like an oldschool riot cop stuff) and 3 new achievements, and a job that entails turning an FBI safe house into a vacant lot.waiting to happen. Looking at this thing it's kind of disgusting how well they're treating this rat honestly, guy's even got a kitchen I'd kill for... But you can choose to go in guns blazing or stealth the whole thing like the ninja assassin you see yourself as, whichever sounds more entertaining.

And with that the OVERKILL team returns once again to sleep the Odinsleep, reemerging once they've had their bodies recharged and scheme up even more hijinks for us to enact out at a later date... I'm still hoping for some kind of full-on racing heist, maybe some drive-by shootings, actual hijacking of a vehicle to escape from a botched heist in which one person drives while the others try getting the cops off them...?
