For those of you not familiar with Molly Holzschlag, she's been a web developer and standards advocate since almost the inception of the web. She runs in the same crowd as fellow luminaries Eric Meyer and David Shea (creator of
the CSS Zen Garden). She's also a hell of a nice person, and has a wicked sense of humor.
For the past couple of years, she's been working with (e.g. pestering from the inside) Microsoft to try to help them "get it" where the web is concerned, and to show them the value of standards and a consistent browser experience. Sure, it was Firefox that woke Microsoft up (until then, they only had
one person maintaining MSIE), but it was people like Molly that kept that fire going.
So, anyways, back in December, she had the opportunity to
interview Bill Gates about Internet Explorer 8, and we can thank her for a lot of the news that's coming out now. It's an interesting read, as is most of her website.
