Internet Explorer 8 Beta

They Also have Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta out too so if you are firefox exclusive look that up.

its mainly for developers though

It would take a miracle for IE to convert all the Firefox fanboys like myself ;)

well according to an [link=http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/03/04/0114203]article at Slashdot[/link] that I recently read, IE 8 is supposed to be fully standards complaint. Finally.

Seems I remember hearing this about IE 7, though...

Oh, and just for good measure, it appears that [link=http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=08/03/09/2136242]IE 5.5 scores better on the Acid 3 compatibility test than IE 6 or IE 7[/link].
 
For those of you not familiar with Molly Holzschlag, she's been a web developer and standards advocate since almost the inception of the web. She runs in the same crowd as fellow luminaries Eric Meyer and David Shea (creator of the CSS Zen Garden). She's also a hell of a nice person, and has a wicked sense of humor.

For the past couple of years, she's been working with (e.g. pestering from the inside) Microsoft to try to help them "get it" where the web is concerned, and to show them the value of standards and a consistent browser experience. Sure, it was Firefox that woke Microsoft up (until then, they only had one person maintaining MSIE), but it was people like Molly that kept that fire going.

So, anyways, back in December, she had the opportunity to interview Bill Gates about Internet Explorer 8, and we can thank her for a lot of the news that's coming out now. It's an interesting read, as is most of her website.
 
Well i downloaded firefox 3 beta and i was disappointed. It looked really cool and everything but i was disappointed of how the different taps were setup. Instead of there being a little x next to the tab to close the tab, you had to right click and close that tab. That gets really annoying when you have a bunch of tabs open full of computer parts to look at for a custom computer build.

Also, on the right side, there is the google search toolbar. The google icon is in the very middle of the search menu. So when you are typing something to google, the google icon is basically blocking you from seeing what you are writing in the search bar. I guess that is why they call it a beta version of firefox.
 
I have both viewers right now. I HATE IE8!! It has so many glitches like pages not displaying right, your screen pulled up to the top when you are scrolling down, and more.

FireFox3 has its own set of issues like lines appearing in text boxes and such, but I would give it at least a 6 compared to IE 8 which I put at a measly 3 on the scale of 1-10.
