Medic Unlockable News - Apparently NO Overhealer

I always thought that the medic's main weapon was a little weak. I agree with Spank, they should create a sort of dizzy effect but in a way that it's not EVERY needle but more like a few "Criticle Hit" ones.

All of the Crit needles creating a dizzy effect? Cool, but not very useful in-game if the person is any good. Maybe have that with a slow damage effect, like 1 health a second or something, and the virus doesn't pass on.

Maybe he just announces to you that he's not in your insurance network, and you'll have to get care from somewhere else, then hands you an extortionate bill for that thirty seconds of his time.

Now THAT sounds like a great weapon idea.
Although it will unbalance the heavy, he's slow enough already!

As some people have mentioned, a slowing/drugging needle gun would be amazing... however.

A medigun that has an area-of-effect component? Just imagine picking one target, say, a heavy. That heavy gets 100% of the normal healing bonus if nobody's around. If others are within its (small) range, he gets say, 50%, and the other 50% are spread out amongst the others near the heavy. Overheal and uber would go to the target as normal, but not the others (unless it only overhealed them, but very, very slowly).

That, or some method for the medic to heal himself. That'd be awesome.

The medic already does heal himself. I think the syringes should have a slow acting drug or virus in them, but it shouldn't be contagious. Why wouldn't it just shoot the needles instead of the whole syringe if there's nothing in them? I think the person hit with the needles should slowley loose health like the after burning effect from pyros, but not as quickly as burning produces.

here is what i want as a medic: The possibility to reach my patient under fire.

So, I would like to have a captain america type shield to protect myself while crossing lines of fire. Something that would take some punishement and eventually get destroyed until it is repaired at a dispenser. Would be good for retreating too. It could take about 50 to 100 something points of damage, like about 3 or so blasts from shot guns. Cause the main problems for medics is this:

1: They get killed often
2: They have to ride at the back to stay alive
3: It is a class for people who cant shoot straight
4: Once you play medic, everybody expects you to stay medic.

I do not agree with the medic being too offensive, but i would agree with being a bit more defensive and able to run for glory and capture points behind his shiny shield :)
