Not long after I started playing TF2, I realized that I needed a microphone to get the full experience. Except I hate being tied to my computer via wires. Especially when it's a headset, as I'm apt to spin around and monkey with one of the other computers in the office while waiting to respawn. (Which is often 
) So, I went out and bought an el cheapo Bluetooth transceiver from CompUSA and sync my Motorola Bluetooth headset to my PC for gaming and Ventrilo. I have a wireless headset for my XBox and love it, so I figured "what the heck'.
What's especially cool is that Vent will let me individually select output sources, so I can output Vent to the headset while sound from TF2 comes out via my kick-butt 5.1 system. It helps lessen the confusion that sometimes occurs when playing in game and trying to figure out if it's somebody on Vent talking or somebody in game. The Mic quality isn't super-duper great, but it isn't Booster bad, either. With one exception when I had some particularly bad interference, the Mic quality has been "good enough for government work". And I should know since I work for the government.
The biggest problem I've had is with the headset dying on me if I play and/or Vent for more than a couple of hours without charging.
Why do I mention all of this today? Well, I checked woot.com and saw that they have 2 generic Bluetooth Headsets for sale today. I have no idea if the quality is any good, but for that price, it's worth a try. Now when the battery runs out on my headset, I can simply "reload" with the next headset and be back online lickity split, assuming that they are also "good enough".
Anyway, I posted this here in case anybody else was interested in trying a Bluetooth microphone setup. It's a bit of a risk with them being generic branded, but considering I spent more than that on dinner for me and my not-a-girlfriend last night, I figured I'd take the risk.
