Who would have thought that the Star Wars Leia would become a Disney princess and LucasArts' Battlefront would return to the company that inspired it. During the last weekend, Lucasfilm hosted the Star Wars Celebration fan convention. During the convention both Disney and EA revealed the trailers for the two most hyped events this year: the new Force Awakens movie and Battlefront 3.

You can be sure that both our own Community Managers and Directors will consider getting eGO involved later this year.

Meanwhile, while we wait, take a look at the game and movie trailers below:</div>

Why should I trust a guy named Darth when it comes to Star Wars? ;)
I have to come out with the truth after all these years... I stole this name from my brother and didn't know what it was till a long time after

I am genuinely excited for what both the movie and game will bring. :)

Also, let's not forget the gamemodes from swbf2. Hunt, conquest, assault, AND capture the flag. As someone who did play swbf2 competitively (yes there was a competitive scene although small), it was all based on ctf maps. With Death Star being like Dust2 in terms popularity.

Let's also not forget the mods! Death Vader on a segway?

In light of what Mega has shared here, Jolly Roger really ought to consider adjusting the title of this post to 'Star Wars: Force Awakens and EA Star Wars Battlefront (or my above title)'. I've done extensive reading on this upcoming game since the formal announcement at the celebration recently. I am not trying to be nitpicky, but EA themselves have admitted this game is nota sequel to Star Wars Battlefront II; instead, is a "reboot" of Battlefront.

By reboot they mean turning it into a Battlefield model, namely, a full-priced game that is announced with planned DLC already (i.e. more of your money for content that should be free). I can't verify that all the data is correct in the chart Mega provided, but at least most of it is accurate. This much we know has been confirmed:

1. No space battles
2. No content from Episodes I-III
3. No Campaign (rather, they are introducing "missions", playable either solo or with only one other person)
4. No Instant Action
5. No Galactic Conquest
6. Only four planets to battle on (five if you include the DLC planet Jakku, scheduled to be released in December just prior to Episode VI): Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust (only new planet besides Jakku)

As if this wasn't bad enough, they want you to pay $10 more for a "Deluxe Edition," which only includes three weapons (that may not even be exclusive to the Deluxe Edition from what I understand) and two "taunts" (Team Fortress 2 anyone?). It is very clear their motive here is purely profit and not to create another excelling title to the best selling Star Wars game of all time. (I am not against profit in any way, but it is sad as they are using people who will buy the game just because of the name and hype.)

All true Star Wars Battlefront fans should be grieved and not support the release of this game unless these issues are addressed and resolved.
