...we gotta respond.

Just wanna let everyone know, ahead of time, that I will be deploying to the middle east for a year. Cannot say when, cannot say where. But if you all of a sudden notice me disappear for a while, at least you have a general understanding of what's going on.

That being said, I wish to remain in eGO and just put my programs (newsletter team, RC, etc) on pause when the time comes. I will send PMs to leadership when the time nears.

On the bright side, I finally reached the $500 spent mark on CSGO skins, RIP wallet </3

Dunno if there will be wifi there lol, but if I ever get some off time I'll come talk to you guys.

My unit issued me an M249 SAW yesterday, so that's what I'll be taking care of over there. I may be a signal guy but you never know what might happen.

Ok I'm jealous of the gun. Belt fed or magazine(it's a thing)? What are you going to be doing over there?

Both, actually. The M249 can take both standard STANAG (M4/M16) 30 round magazines, but has a hard time feeding such, and then there's the box magazine which has a belt inside of it. It's best to keep the belts in a box, because having them dangling rambo style can cause jamming/feeding issues.

LOL right, right. I'm afraid we are deploying with a ranger regiment, and they will take care of most of that for us. But, if they're ever looking for volunteers for a patrol, I may tag along. I'd be the expendable one though; first to enter and clear a room, first to dismount the humvee under fire, etc. Makes me feel special :D
