BC2 causing freezing

So, I have all kinds of far more complicated games than BC2; BF4, Evolve, Ryse Son of Rome, Rome Total War 2. The list goes on. What I don't understand is why a game four to five years old is causing me grief over these newer and far more complicated games. The only thing that BC2 does that these others do not is cause random screen flicker. Part or all of the screen flashes black. Ideas?
 
I'm having similar problems. My player will freeze in place- can't move/fire/etc, but is able to be killed as if playing normally. To correct it, I have to minimize the game screen, then pull it back up. It's very annoying. I know a few other players have been having this problem as well.

If I recall correctly, I think I had this same issue awhile ago, but can't remember the fix..I think it was either aYellowBanana or Skagnatti that helped me with it, but can't remember for certain.

I think it had something to do with a game-setting needing to be changed or disabled, if that helps at all.. :|

This isnt anything like that. This is entire computer freezes and has to be reset to be used.
