Tech Help Boot and BIOS problem

Ok so whenever I restart my computer or shut it down and reboot I get this "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media on selected boot device and press a key" So I restart it again and go into the BIOS and my hardrive doesn't show up in the boot order options. Unless I restart and go into the BIOS again. And I change the boot order I save and reboot. Windows starts normally and works like it should. But back to restarting and shutting down it changes my boot order so that message up top shows up. Even when I disable the boot option that's causing the problem my boot order gets changed every time without me doing anything

sounds like the battery on motherboard needs to be replaced

yea. try seeing if your CMOS battery is bad, which is what this sounds like. your CMOS battery saves your BIOS settings, even if you unplug your PC.

when it goes bad, your BIOS settings constantly gets reset to the default.

do you know what a CMOS battery is?/what it looks like?

Sounds to me like it could also be the master boot record.

If this is tampered with you'll have to flush it
