Hey,

I dont know where else to go with this question.

I just bought project cars, and i get very low FPS compared to other people with the same specs. which are:

GTX 770GTX
i5 4670K
8GB Ram

On ultra settings I get 23 FPS.

On low/medium settings I get 50/60 FPS.

Looks like there is something wrong here. What could cause this problem?:(

Hopefully somebody can help me,

thanks,

Bird

Turn nvidia gameworks off. Appearently there has been issues with it and non 900 series cards.

It is in the settings of the game i believe. I personally dont have the game but was reading bout this exact issue on a forum last night and that was the solution.

Can't find it anywhere in the game. Do you have a link to the forum where you've read it?

Its not necessarily the feature itself its things your suppose to disable within it. Gameworks is a new method by Nvidia to make games run better on there 900 series. The issues is in doing so they broke several games With the older series geforces as well as AMD. This is an ongoing issue. Unfortunately from what i am reading with cars the only thing you can currently do is get the newest Geforce driver at nvidia's site. Ill keep looking because other games there have been things to disable that increase performance on non maxwell (900 series ) cards. ( Also note before someone states the obvious yes its not an offical game works game but it is using many features from gameworks which is why its having the issues)

My appologies for not explaining that better this morning was tired when i posted that and didn't realize I explained it poorly.

I did a bit more research. Alot of the threads talking about this are saying to turn the car details down to high and thats supposedly been solving the issues for alot of cards. Not sure if that fix works on the 770 to but worth a shot.

thanks for your reply. My drivers are up to date though. Ill see if i cant find anything about the gameworks and pCars.

Still no change, anyone else any suggestions on how to possible fix this?

Honestly, you're crap out of luck. I made a post last night here talking about GameWorks. Essentially nVidia has royally screwed nVidia card owners that do NOT own Maxwell (900-series). Even the latest drivers are still only optimized for the 900 series. There's nothing you can do until new drivers are released by nVidia, beyond complaining to the company about their methodology.

It's also not just Project Cars, but Witcher 3 as well, according to developer CD Projekt Red.

As additional proof: A 960 beats out a 780 in both games on average fps where the 780 is usually about 30% faster (but instead is a few frames slower in those two games).

Okay, thanks for your reply. Lets hope its the driver. Strange though, since most people with my pc specs play the game at ultra just fine. If it would be the driver, everyone with the 770 would deal with the problems.

Problem solved I think.

Reinstalled nvidia driver and let them pick settings. Got 110FPS. Turned settings up and got 60 now.

Could also been the anti-aliassing settings, since thats a lot lower now. Not sure which of the two solved it. Gonna turn up Anti-aliassing and see.

Yeah. I have the same setup as you Blackbird. When pCars launched the game ran flawlessly 4690k/ GTX 770.

Once tho the Witcher 3 drivers hit tho it just borked all of the 700 series performance.

Seems tho you got it working by rolling back. Been away for a bit but I seen they had a new Nvidia driver patch. Might give that a try and see if they fixed anything.
