ok I thought I should say something here for everyone if you think someones hacking I was told to record it and send it up stairs why on earth would u sit there and call someone a hacker? when im playing on Italy I know I don't like to see our own members our own (es) calling eatch other hackers I can tell when its a joke and when your mad especialy when your calling people that im sure have been on Italy a lot longer then me hackers know I was told by other Os and eGs to record if u think its a hack and kick the video upstairs I don't think it shows very good rep for our members here to be calling others hackers when they aren't its kinda disrespectful to them and I think it is towards ego aswell

I too have seen this. Been wanting to try to get an =(e)= orientation class happen as soon as possible to prevent behavior like this. Would greatly improve our reputation on the Source servers. Thanks for bringing this up.

well its just ive seen it happen and I look on the forums and no one has said anything so I thought it was time something was said cause it gives us a bad name if the =(e)= are swearing and everything I kinda look at it as we are here to set an exsample not tear things down

Going off various bits of what you said (and correct me if I'm wrong anyone) -

Suspected hacking

- If you believe someone is hacking, try contacting a admin via any of the following:

  • --You can contact any admin that is on any CS server by using the & symbol in team-chat (default button for team chat is U), followed by your message. As mentioned, this will send a message to any admin that is on one of our CS servers, and it'll show the server name, your name, and the message. (Example of how to use this feature, without quotes: "& Need a admin in this server")
(You can also use the &-chat feature in our other Source-Game servers (DODS, TF2, and possibly GMOD) to contact admins on those servers if you're in one of those games)
  • --Steam (add some on Steam if you haven't already)
  • --TeamSpeak

If all else fails, go to spectate and record a demo. Be sure to type 'status', without quotes, in console once you start recording, as well. When finished, follow the instructions in the sticky thread(s) in the Ban Request forum.

Hackusations (Someone calling another player a hacker)

- To my knowledge, this isn't allowed. Also, from my perspective, if I see someone doing this and there is in fact a hacker, said hacker might toggle them off. Some, if not most admins might look into the player in question to see if they are in fact hacking, but as mentioned, when they are called out on it they might toggle them off to prevent from being kicked/banned. Also, some players may be called hackers by others but are just experienced with the game, or have a good internet or good headset that allows you to pick up even the slightest sound.

As far as joke-hackusations..these I'm not sure about, but I'd imagine they're on a similar road.

Breaking server rules
If you see someone breaking the server rules and there isn't a admin available, gather what proof you can, their name and SteamID (a SteamID will look like this: STEAM_0:0:0101012), and submit a ban request (Be sure to use the template provided in one of the sticky threads)

If you see a member breaking the rules, especially a G or O, contact leadership or post a thread in the Drop Box forum with the details, and use the prefix 'Neighborhood Watch'.

Hope this helps!
