hey guys are you able to shoot threw the boxes on dust2 and the house walls on Italy? kinda wondering if u can how much damage does it do to someone if anyone nows I was just wondering I think it might depend on the weapon of choice but I was wanting other opions

House walls, yes..boxes, only on the corners/edges as far as I know.

Not sure how much damage though

Well in dust 2 you can shoot through the doors and a few boxes such as the ones on Bombsite A

The best weapon to shoot through object and at least have the best chance of doing some damage would be the para but not sure how much damage it will do.

Different weapons have different maximum distance they can penetrate. In source, the damage they deal is always halved if they penetrate, regardless of distance. In global offensive, it depends on the objects material as well as the weapon, and is something you can test for yourself with this console command: sv_showimpacts_penetration 1

ah ok so if im getting this right the best weapon is the para for shooting threw objects

The m249 is on par with every other assault rifle except the aug and the ak47. Both can penetrate an additional 4 inches of wood or glass(39inches compared to 35), or an additional 2 inches of a concrete block(16 inches compared to 14). The scout, ak, aug, and T auto sniper are all the same for penetrating, while the weapon that can go the furthest is the awp, able to go 45 inches through wood.

The doors on dust2 are made of wood, either 8 or 16 units in length, meaning every assault rifle is going to penetrate them. The maximum distance a bullet can travel through an object doesn't matter if the object isn't wide enough to stop the bullet. The distance traveled in source does not effect the bullets damage; it is always halved if it makes it through the object and nulled if it does not. So the m249 is "better" simply because it has more bullets to spray with, but all are equally effective at penetrating through an object.

I believe you can also shoot through those with the aforementioned weapons.

yea but I think it reduces and waists a lot of bullets and they have a better chance of killing u first
