New Hardware Making the DDR4 leap

I'll be using the 750w Corsair PSU from my current system and my existing EVGA GTX 770 gpu until I get a few more paychecks and then I'll be upgrading the graphics card as well.

Is this PC just for gaming or is it for rendering etc? Because for gaming I would go for the GPU now and the CPU later if you have a decent CPU right now.

I have a seven year old FX 900 series processor. I bought the GPU last year and it pushes everything I currently play beautifully. Also, I had to go for a CPU with LGA 2011-v3 chip because the DDR4 motherboards are only produced with said chipslot.

Any reason why you're going for DDR4 already? I figure a few more years before DDR4 becomes closer to mainstream.
