Tech Help Wireless Gaming Headset

Hey all,

I have had bad luck when purchasing a wireless headset. The first one that I had was really bad; the distance from the box to the headset got worse and worse. The second one always had a bad buzzing noise that I could not get rid of, I had to return both within a few days. I have been using a wired headset but the cable keeps getting loose after a few months of use. I just want to have free reign of movement. A wireless headset will make that happen.

I would like to see if there are any suggestions on wireless gaming headsets. I have looked at a few and the price range that I am comfortable with is around $80-100.

I have never been a fan of anything wireless. If you want freedom of movement I would go with the Steelseries Siberia V2. The cord, with line extension that is included in the box, is 3.2m (9.5 ft). I know that there are many more headsets out there that have better quality but for a good gaming headset it serves its purpose and they only have a 70.00$ price tag.
 
The only reason that I want to go wireless is because every time I get a headset the cable gets loose and soon enough will just break off. I don't like when it does that because it just means there is another headset that is busted that I payed $80 for and I have done it twice.

Not unless there is a headset where I have to plug into or screw on the cable because to me I think that it would be more secure than it what most headsets wired come with.
 
I have that Logitech headset one thing i can tell you is if you have anything wireless in the house, kids tablet or wife laptop etc... it will interfere with this headset and you will loose connection. I have got myself a wired one now :)

Can you link me the headset that you have, want to look into it and whatnot.

I spent a few weeks looking at headsets and the PX22s from Turtle Beach are the ones that I have and I bought a second pair about 2 months ago and the cable connecting to the headset is loosening and it is bothering me, that is how my last pair died on me.

I found a few that are more than what I want to spend but I am willing to save up and whatnot so that I can get one of the ones that I have found on Amazon...

The price goes from low to high, hope one of those are good for the price....what do you guys think...?

Wrong headset Alex. He wants to know the wired one you're using now.
 
In my experience, gaming headsets just aren't your best option. If you get some good quality headphones and put a ModMic on it, it will blow gaming headsets out of the water. AudioTechnica ATH-AD500X or 700X are great options. The open-backed design give you great positional audio so you can hear a bird in a tree NNW 3/4 of a mile away across the map xD But you can also get headsets with detachable cables so if the cable breaks, you can just get a new one.

I have the G930 myself and I love it. Alex is right though, a lot of things do like to interfere w/ it and now and then it will randomly lose connection to the antenna. Also I've heard from people who also use it that the rechargeable battery starts to not stay as charged after 6+ months and slowly dies, but Logitech will replace it and send you a new one (so Ive been told). As of having the headphones for a year+ they havent lost their ability to hold a charge though.

I'd recommend them and rate them 9/10 do to interference.
Wired ones might be better if you don't mind a cord.

I also have the Logitech G430, another reason I would go with Logitech is that they have great customer service/tech support when it comes to RMAing a product that has malfunctioned in some way
 
Personally, I have used the wireless Astro A50's before and they are amazing, but way out of your price range. With wired though, my current Gamecom 780's havnt gone loose on me yet and I head them for almost a year now
