So im building another PC

It has been 3 years since I built this comp and its still going strong. My kids, not so much. He is going to get my current one and I will be building a new one. I don't keep up on all this stuff but heres what I came up with. Let me know. BTW, the case im getting is the current case I have now. I love it, stays cool, keeping it.

Some people will tell you not to get the 970 but i have of that exact one and havent had any issues with vram that's noticeable.

I run the 4790k with 970sli and both are great, got my 4790k overclocked to 4.5 and never seen my pc go above 70.

tbh not sure that the difference is between z87 and z97 but I have the z97 msi gaming 5 and never had any issues.

The rig you posted looks pretty solid imo, and the SSD you posted is the card everyone is going for recently too. Again some people may suggest getting 980 / 960 etc but 970 hasn't caused me any issues.

Go with 2x8, that way you have the extra stroage. No issues on the 970 pick, but if you have money for the 980, feel free to go for that.

850 watts should be more than enough. 1000 is definitely Overkill.

No comment on the motherboard as it depends on whether you're going to OC, what features you need more (Ex. multiple USB 3.0), etc. Nothing wrong with the suggestions/picks thus far.

Any will do.

Other than that, if you want longevity in your build, increase your 970 to a 980. Otherwise, decrease your i7-4790k to an i5-4690k to match with the 970. And you can do with a smaller PSU, but that's not as crucial as the other things.

The performance difference is negligible more times than not. The only difference is whether your mobo supports 4 ram channels.

you should get diff ram all together. you have 1600 ram listed and most systems can support 2100 which can make a fair difference in performance.
AMD tends to last longer than intel when it comes to CPU (probably more of a personal view but w.e.)
and you should always get an HDD to supplement your SSD, SSD's are relatively new and still have some progressions before they can be considered stable. Its always a good idea to have an HDD and create backups regularly.
Id also like to note that for the price of this computer build i could build a monster. your choices are sketchy at best. (no offence, and i assume that you dont own and manage 300 servers to negligent to you is different from my views.)

I totally agree with the 1st link that alex posted. I am currently using that very air cooled aftermarket on my i5-3570k & have yet to overclock it. My biggest worry is that since ill be using the same bus speed as you, i wont be able to overclock it that much. Let me know how much you o/c yours when you get it built & all that good stuff.
