ARK: Survival Evolved
"As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK,
you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements.
Use your cunning and resources to kill or tame the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land,
and team up with or prey on hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!"

Got a poll suggestion of your own? Post it in the "Front Page Poll Questions" thread.

Waiting for eGO to decide if they want to support it or not. I just don't want to play it alone so if eGO get it, i'll play!

Already have it. It is still early access but I think that it is defiantly worth the purchase. I am always down to play so add me on steam.

I have it. Bought it a few weeks ago. They still have not optimized the game enough. I am going to wait a few more weeks until playing the game again.

Early Access = Red Light for me. I'm not saying that good can't come from the system, but there's just way too many games that up and die in it and leave players with an unfinished game they've already paid for. I might in the future depending on where it goes, but as for now, no.

These devs are a bit different from the current norm for early access games. They have been putting out patches/content updates on a daily basis since release, and are paying close attention to the community and their thoughts/opinions.

coach for hire? teach me to ARK

1. Make pointy stick and jab closest living creature and/or player.
2. Find dinosaur, punch it in the face until unconscious.
3. Feed unconscious dino *insert food item here* until tamed.
4. Make *insert dino type here* saddle.
5. ???
6. Profit!

As of right now? My answer is no. That could change in the future. I have the specs to run it. I have no desire to purchase it atm.

Personally I'm waiting for the full release. I've heard nothing but great things, but I simply don't mind waiting until everything's in a polished state.

My first time playing it was like this:

Spawn in on a beach somewhere on a tropical island. It's hot so I need to find shelter and move inland with tall grasses. I find a large pool of water, go swimming to call off...beat a coelcanth senseless with my fists and drag it ashore. As I'm coming out of the water a pickaxe swings down on the back of myhead...murdered by another human.
Respawn...
Start collecting wood/thatch for shelter, it's getting dark, but I need more materials so I keep swinging my stone axe...and accidentally hit the leg of a large turtle thing which tramples me to death.
Respawn...
Take a few steps into the jungle wondering where I'll go next...raptor lunges out of the brush and has a midnight snack...

And yet...was having so much fun figuring out what to do that I didn't mind dying.
