Sad Faces During Boot Process?

Hello everyone. I think I have fixed this issue, but I would like some other input on this issue, in case this happens again.

Anyhow, last night when I was turning on my computer, it made some really loud beeping noises, and sad faces started showing up on my screen, like a bunch of them. I have an HP desktop computer, and from what I've heard, its common among HP desktop users to make it more "friendly". Anyhow, if this happens again, what exactly should I do? My grandfather has already done several virus/malware checks and nothing out of the ordinary is showing up, and if it did, he wiped it away. Anyway, thanks for reading this and I hope to hear some responses soon.

Your Mobo BIOS will run a self test when you turn the computer on and the beeps indicate a warning. I found a pretty comprehensive list of beep codes depending on motherboard. Hopefully it helps. Also, the sad face thing means your computer is possessed. Hope this helps.

Are you running Windows 8/8.1? The only time I know of a smiley face is when 8 BSODs, it will do a

Honestly with how you explanied it, it sounds like a hardware issue. You can scan your even logs for anything that windows may have picked up. Run some tests to test the CPU, RAM, HDD, or a GPU if you have one.
If it BSOD's while gaming i would suggest running some tests.
I'd suggest Prime 95 for CPU and RAM.
DO NOT use furmark for your GPU. Try unigine heaven for the GPU

Hey guys. So I did a disk check on my C Drive and it did find a few things wrong with it so I cleaned it and it seems to be fine now. I haven't had the sad faces nor the beeps since it happened. I'll let you guys know if something else comes up with this. And I am running Windows 7 for those that are wondering.

Sorry for the late post, but if you found issues with your hard drive, you may want to consider replacing it soon.
Boot sector corruption can brick a drive, and if it WAS corrupted, you're lucky you were able to repair it.

Question, was this an HDD or SSD?
