I have mixed feelings about this update. I like most of the changes to weapons and stats, with the exceptions listed below, but I'm really uneasy about being able to pick up weapons. It seems too mainstream-y for me.

Regarding stat changes:
Ones I love:
New spy reload animation!!
Buff to Cloak and Dagger
Nerf/rebalance to Dead Ringer
Minisentry nerf
Airstrike buff
Bootlegger/Booties speed bonus
Sydney Sleeper Jarate buff!
No longer lose heads on miss with Bazaar Bargain!!
Bushwacka fire vulnerability gone!!
SO MANY HEAVY WEAPON BUFFS OMG YOU GUYS THIS IS AWESOME
Major buff to Panic Attack actually may make it a viable weapon

Ones I hate:
Boost reduction on damage from BBB
No +15 health from PBPP - the main reason I used it was to offset the Sandman's health reduction.
Blackbox buff. They should have changed it to +10 health per hit while still keeping the radius nerf. Blackbox is OP as F.
Loch-n-Load damage nerf... now there's almost no reason to use it. It was like the Direct Hit, rewarding impeccable aim with more damage. Now that's gone. -_-
Caber Nerf SUCKS

Blackbox buff. They should have changed it to +10 health per hit while still keeping the radius nerf. Blackbox is OP as F.

100% agree. Can't believe they buffed the Black Box EVEN MORE. It was already ridiculously OP, now every 'good" soldier's going to be using it.

Mini Sentries can now be repaired
Mini Sentry base build speed decreased. Mini Sentries that are wrench boosted build slightly faster than previously.

Sometimes I feel like nobody at valve actually plays this game anymore, and it's now used for some sort of rage simulator/testing grounds. Jokes aside, from looking at the class changes, we are now playing a completely different game to some extent. I'm pretty interested to see what it will be :)

I honestly thought this was a joke at first. I thought some guy thought it would be funny if there was a TF2 update that LOOKED EXACTLY LIKE A CSGO UPDATE. Boy, what a knee slapper, imagine if TF2 was csgo.

But nah, we actually have weapon skins in TF2 now.

Spy - They buffed spy. lol.
Enforcer and spycicle got needed nerfs. C&D got an unneeded buff. DR got balanced......I guess? I doubt the other changes will make the other knives be used.

Engie - I don't see much real gameplay change here, except the nice wrench change mechanic fix.
They buffed the Gunslinger. lol. Jag got a nice buff.

Scout - BFB got a nerf. k. Shortstop isn't a pistol now (That never made sense). Fan o' War got a HUGE buff (Any damage reduction on that thing is huge. What does it hit for now, normal damage?)

Soldier - Airstrike buff. The healing on the pickaxes are really still minimal, but it's nice. Black box got a nice nerf.

Demo - They buffed Tide Turner. lol. Booties and Clad got more buffs.

LOCH AND LOAD. Wait, so is it basically just a downgrade now?

Medic -
Vaccinator base resist does not grant any crit resistance.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS, PEOPLE? NO MORE VACC SNIPERS!

Sniper - Oooooooh Bazaar buff. That's a nice one.

Heavy - A bunch of all around buffs for a bunch of weapons. Are you happy now, heavy players?

So basically, it's CS:GO.

Honestly, I don't know how I feel about that. Especially the weapon exchange mechanic. I'm hype for new maps, weapons, and gameplay changes (woop woop) but I don't want TF2 to rip off a game made by the same company 10(?) years after TF2. I'm sure these new skins will revive the already failing TF2 economy, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Spy no longer smacks himself in the face while reloading a revolver

This cracked me up, though.

I'm gonna put a stop to all the "TF2 is now CS:GO" right now.

Skins are not exclusive to cs go.
Weapon pickups are not exclusive to cs go.

How is the gameplay at all similar in any fashion, other than "shoot other players for certain objectives", which is also not a cs go exclusive.

No more.

Thank you.

Challenge coins, weapon cases, skins divided into collections named after maps, subdivided by condition (albeit dumbed down for TF2), which have the exact same names as their counterparts in CS:GO ("Factory New", "Field-Tested", "Battle-Scarred"), Stat Clock counter on the weapon itself as opposed to a HUD feature viewable in the inventory, a button that allows the in-game viewmodel to be inspected by the character holding the specific weapon, and challenge campaigns which reward these new skins and cases exclusively for 5.99 USD.

None of this is inherently bad, it just shows that Valve won't change their formula if it works. How the TF2 community reacts remains to be seen, but don't even start saying these changes aren't similar to CS:GO. You're flat out wrong.

I honestly don't know how to feel about this update, the skins, to me are just a obvious cash-grab by Valve, and there isn't really any denying that, but you know whatever, maybe the Mann Co store wasn't enough, cause like you know who actually buys things from the Mann Co. store? As for the balance changes its either going to completely break the game or its going to add something really interesting and exciting to the game. And really Mister36, it IS TF:GO, its no coincidence they added alot of mechanics and whatnot from CS:GO such as the weapon pick-ups and weapon inspection. The new maps look cool though.

I can taste the salt in the air. Let me get some fries real quick.

I think this is the only TF2 update that I actually don't like the sound of. Spy needed more buffs? LOL

Alright alright alright. Let me help you out here 36.

Lets roll back the clock shall we? December 22, 2014 Major content update dubbed "Swissmas" was released with a bunch of weapons and cool stuff, right? As of July 2nd, 2015, 192 days have passed since that last "big" update. And before this update was announced all I heard was "TF2 is dead" "Valve abandoned TF2" , blah blah blah. Now, TF2 is going to release a MASSIVE update with a bunch of game changing tweaks and now all I hear is "VALVe ruined TF2!" "TF:GO" "CT:GF" so when are we ever going to accept change as change and stop complaining about it? VALVe finally revived TF2 as there are a lot of people who are very hyped about this update and are very open to seeing all the different changes VALVe has finally brought to us. Its about time we stop complaining about every little move VALVe makes (except if they try to make paid mods, thats not cool).

And to agree with 36, CSGO and TF2 are different in every angle you view it in except "skins" but welcome to the world of every other top multiplayer games, I guess TF2 is like LoL now too, huh?

Now that I'm off my soapbox, I'm gonna go stare at steam and wait for the new update to appear.

It isn't a complaint, Gus, it's an observation.

TF2's new update brought over features prevalent in CS:GO. Does it ruin TF2? Who knows, the update isn't out yet!

I embrace change, but these changes are things we've seen before in different context. That's the point I'm trying to make. I don't speak for everyone else but no one here has said that TF2 was ruined.
