The Gun Mettle Update!

It isn't a complaint, Gus, it's an observation.

TF2's new update brought over features prevalent in CS:GO. Does it ruin TF2? Who knows, the update isn't out yet!

I embrace change, but these changes are things we've seen before in different context. That's the point I'm trying to make. I don't speak for everyone else but no one here has said that TF2 was ruined.

I wasn't just saying everyone in this thread. I was talking about the community as a whole, /r/tf2 has had to spend a lot of time removing the threads that are like that.

Its about time we stop complaining about every little move VALVe makes

I completely agree, like I said, I personally am not a fan of the new weapon skins, they look kinda neat but I don't really want to spend the money for them when I already have my botkillers and festives and spec killstreaks. I do think the whole "TF2 IS RUINED" thing is a bit out of hand, and I withdraw my previous negative statements. After all, we can't judge an update until it goes live.

it's not like tf2 becoming more like csgo is even a bad thing, or a shock...

Yeah! HOW DARE THEY UPDATE THE GAME TO GET PEOPLE INTERESTED IN IT AGAIN!

But......it's a cash grab......

I'm not complaining. Not much in this update really affects the game as a whole, except adding new files and maybe bringing back some deserters.

The weapon skins and stuff could be considered a cash grab, but honestly, who cares? The majority of players have been playing the game completely free of charge for YEARS now, why are we faulting Valve for giving the option of cool but useless stuff to those who WANT to pay for it? Stop whining, everyone. If you don't want to give the best game company more money, then don't.

The update affects the game a HUGE amount, what with tons and tons of weapon stat changes.

They buffed the Gunslinger. lol.
The Gunslinger was not buffed, it was nerfed. You can't get metal from it, it builds slower than it used to (unless you hit it, which people never did anyway), it starts off at half the health it used to, and there's a time delay between rebuilding.

Oh, right.

I completely forgot to mention.

UNUSUAL WEAPONS????????!!!!!!!!!!!?????

Scorch Shot

Reduced damage penalty from -50% to -35%
Now has increased knock back on burning targets
Increased the blast radius from flares from 92Hu to 110Hu
Hits and explosions always minicrit burning targets

I am happy~

Now I can be even more annoying than before AND rack some kills.

Challenge coins, weapon cases, skins divided into collections named after maps, subdivided by condition (albeit dumbed down for TF2), which have the exact same names as their counterparts in CS:GO ("Factory New", "Field-Tested", "Battle-Scarred"), Stat Clock counter on the weapon itself as opposed to a HUD feature viewable in the inventory, a button that allows the in-game viewmodel to be inspected by the character holding the specific weapon, and challenge campaigns which reward these new skins and cases exclusively for 5.99 USD.

None of this is inherently bad, it just shows that Valve won't change their formula if it works. How the TF2 community reacts remains to be seen, but don't even start saying these changes aren't similar to CS:GO. You're flat out wrong.

As they say, " imitation is the sincerest form of flattery "

What bothers me is that the missions can only be done on Valve servers. I don't think it's good for community servers like ours. :(

They did remove all Valve servers from the Server browser, so thats cool
