The Gun Mettle Update!

They did remove all Valve servers from the Server browser, so thats cool

Actually they removed this in one of the post-updates, because people were complaining (mostly people in countries where the only community servers are crappy)

This update completely changed how I played engie because of the eureka effect wrench. Since it lets me teleport to and from an exit teleporter that doesn't even need to be on I can quickly set up a spot for myself like the sewers in 2 fort or the vents in turbine so the enemy doesn't have much time to react simply because in a matter of moments I can have a sentry and dispenser up in such a short time.

I wouldn't say the new Eureka Effect is OP but it is definitely way stronger than before since you can just teleport back to base for 200 metal.

....also I love the tomislav even more now.

Gun Mettle update is terrible

Was Valve trying to kill the game? Because if so, I believe they have succeeded. Or at least started the process.

The spy is more overpowered against the engineer than ever before. Even with faster wrench speeds (i.e. The Jag), an engineer cannot upkeep their sentry's health when removing constant sapper placements. The wrangler is just as ineffective before the update (given the difficulty of manually aiming the sentry, especially at close range enemies), allowing the engineer no opportunity to save his buildings. There really needs to be a cooldown on sappers, even if it's only two or three seconds.

And apparently (although it isn't written anywhere that I've seen), sappers now remove all sentry ammunition. At least that's what happened to me while I was playing just now (unless someone can tell me what else would cause that).

Not to mention that they turned the game into a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive model (buy such and such medal for a limited time, get such and such digital prestige.. ooh, real fancy!).

The only good thing that came out of this update was buffs on certain weapons that would never have been used before (Family Business, Eviction Notice, etc.). Some weapons still remain worthless though (Sharpened Volcano Fragment) or were actually nerfed to practical uselessness (Loch-N-Load).

This is nothing new. Spies could always do that even before the last update, even before MvM update, even before Spy vs Sniper update. And the Wrangler has always been kind of meh at close range. Your best option is to have a lvl3 and rocket the ground.

Probably a bug. I haven't seen this happen myself.

Well, TF2 has always had some very niche weapons that are meant to screw with people or for some to mess around with. Not every weapon can be balanced perfectly considering there's like 10 different melee weapons per class. Versatility is great, but you always will have stuff that is very lack luster or simply underwhelming in all aspects.

I was waiting for someone to point out all the fallacies in this reply, and Jawneh did just that.

You describe a classic engineer-spy engagement, nothing new from the update. The jag was buffed, not nerfed. The wrangler received a much needed nerf, but is still one of the most viable engineer secondaries.

If a sentry gun is sapped while building then it will lose its ammo- a really old bug. You might have seen this, or there might be new bug.

If you own two fps games, why not re-use successful ideas? Digital prestige is what most people want. The fact remains that it's an update for TF2, an archaic game.

It's awesome that they buffed some underused weapons, and even more cool that they nerfed weapons that needed a nerf- like the loch n load. Being able to one shot light classes and aim easier with is overpowered.

Yeah! HOW DARE THEY UPDATE THE GAME TO GET PEOPLE INTERESTED IN IT AGAIN!

xD Exactly what I was thinking. They updated the game, if you don't like it, then so be it, but it's not like saying everything you don't like about it is gonna change anything. Plus, everything they buffed/nerfed helped in my opinion. People are using different weapons and you actually have to try to beat them. It keeps it interesting, not repetitive. If you actually tried, you'd be able to find counters to them.

As for skins how does this affect gameplay in anyway what so ever??? IT DOESN'T xD It makes me wanna slap all y'all. Who cares if so and so and a different color gun than you. Lol

Being capable of picking up guns allows strategies or what if you just liked someones gun but don't have it. It also allows new players to be able to try out new weapons and decide if they like them or not.

I suppose my point of all this is, the update happened, you can't change it. So look for the good in it and don't complain about it when neither you nor the people you're complaining to have any control over it happening. c:
