On behalf of the Planetside 2 Leadership within eGO:

We regret to inform you the Final Sundy Bus has left the terminal and Sky Whales have flown the coop. Planetside 2 is officially ending its time in EGO.

We have had many fun times with the community, from the early days of sneaking behind DVS lines to blow up their Sunderers. We got to witness our insane medic,Serpent who somehow found a way to res you even deep behind enemy lines. We were there when the server was renamed from Waterson to Emerald and say the rise and fall of many zones.

Everyone from OP:X Planetside2 Leadership Team and OP:X as a whole thanks you again for the memories!

Well eGO, thanks for the memories. The 2 years of PS2 was amazing with you guys. People I have met here will remain forever my friends.

Well other than League of Legends there really isn't anything else that I will play with you guys. Arma 3 , Star Citizen and Planetside 2 (Eternal Crusade when it comes out). I have found another community for these games and that's where the majority of my time will be spent.

It really is too bad about PS2.

With that said, I'm glad I got to spend as much time as I did within the game with you guys. It truly was a pleasure to play alongside all of you and your goofy antics.

Here's to finding yet another game that will bring us all together :)
 
The times I played on planetside 2 with you guys are some of my best gaming experiences...

Then the med school captured me..

Too bad... there were definitely some really fun times on there over the years. Seems that every game I've gotten really into eventually dies off... PS2, Insurgency, COD4... that's life though

Also INS did not hit it off since most people that played and supported it vanished.

As for Ps2, that was the Devs fault, ad lack of an End Game.

I played with the original COD4 division, back when we had World at War servers as well. INS was great for a few years, the Dust2 server we ran was so much fun. But it eventually did die off due to a variety of reasons.

And yes, PS2 was destined to slowly start dying off at the rate it was going. Seems every eGO game I play dies, besides TF2 haha.
 
It happens. Most games die because the market is flooded, or poor Dev decisions.

Indeed, nothing is forever. Although a few titles just have lasted the test of time (Seemingly lots of Valve games) haha
