[poll] Do you have mic?

Yes I do. When TF2 came out in October, I went like 2 months without a mic. I bought one and looking back now I can't believe I ever made do without one. Mics make the gaming experience so much better in this game.

i played team fortress 2 for a week without a mic, and once I was addicted, I went right out and bought one! ^_^

People who don't have microphones, read this: Typing gets you shot.

Don't feel obligated to actually speak on the mic if you don't want to, just use it when needed, it will make your gaming experience alot better.

If you want to win and go up the ranks in stats, then get one now, it is that simple!

I don't have a mic, hoping to get one so I can communicate with my team faster. For now though, I've become a master of all of the generic voice commands.

I have two mics, both of which are giving me fits getting working. I was convinced it was a software problem, but now that neither one works on my desktop or laptop, it's conceivable that they're both bad.

it makes a huge difference in gaming!

yes!

The one thing about mics is that over time, in my case about 6 months to a year, they always go out at the most inopportune moment. I have had 3 mics in the past 3 years. The last two died out within months of getting them. I think mics are the burden all gamers bear.

This is what I use now:

The Logitech headset I had went bad when the cord that went to my mic was slowly unraveled by the motion of moving the mic up and down. So, I tore it apart stripped the wire that went to the headphones, broke off the mic and soldered it and the wire together. Granted it doesn't always work, but at least its something.

I got a mic just yesterday. I just need to get in the habit of actually using it now

Mics are freaking lifesavers! I can't imagine playing with out one. I've got a $30 logitech headset and I just love it. It doesn't give you that annoying echo you sometimes hear when people have their speakers up to high.

I selected both yes and no. I use the Bluetooth headest that I used to use with my cell phone. (And probably still should since I drive stick.) It works well enough for me unless I forget to charge it or the stars align correctly and I get some wicked interference. (Haven't figured it out yet.) I like it, though, because 1) I'm not tied to the computer with a wire and I can easily get up and go grab another adult beverage or spin around and monkey with another computer while waiting to respawn. 2) Since it shows up as a seperate audio device on my PC, I can route Vent to the headset itself which helps lessen the confusion between who's talking when I'm in Vent and in game at the same time.

yes, and i don't know how you do it but you sure are the master of voice commands.

Didn't come easy, trust me.

Yes, I do.

But, what's up with the 3rd option?

"WTF IS MIC"

It's not really necessary to say that....

Just Saying..
