Tech Help can't connect to site

Hey, looking for some assistance. When I am connected to my home Internet, cell phone(through wifi) or desktop hardlined, I cannot access the eGO website. I get a page with the message "Edge gamers is currently undergoing maintenance and will return soon" I have cleared my cache and active log in. Reset my modem and still cannot access the site. I think it may have something to do with my ip address or something I am just not sure how to fix it. Any help would be great! Thanks
 
Did you clear your cache in both IE and your current browser?

Try this, however.

open a command prompt
start menu - type "cmd" in the bar and hit enter

type the following without quotations

"Ipconfig /release"

Wait 30 seconds, then type

"Ipconfig /renew"




That should refresh your IP, or at minimum your last octet if your router is controlling DHCP on your network.


A Few questions:

What's the full URL of the page you land on when you try to load the site?
When did this issue start? Any changes to the machine near that time?

We can run some diagnostics and check your path to the site if the above doesn't help, but here's hoping eh.

Hey thanks for the reply. I did clear the cache on all my browsers. I ran the ipconfig and I am still getting the same result. The default page I land on is www.edge-gamers.com.

The issue started Thursday early evening as far as I know and I haven't made any changes to my machine or Internet. To point out I am able to access any other site.. just not edge- gamers.
 
Maybe a dns flush? get to cmd menu and type "ipconfig /flushdns" Don't understand what would be retaining the contruction page.
 
I don't get it either.... I did the dnsflush however no change... 3 different devices on the same Internet and only that one site giving me a construction page.. it makes no sense...
 
Might have to pull a Fonzie... Out of curiosity are you using a favorite button to connect to the site or are you manually typing it in?
 
I have done both... connected from favorites and manually typed it out. I deleted it from my favorites as well..

Hmm.

I'd honestly try a system restore to the day before you started having the issue, and if it persists, I'd look server-side.

The only issues that can cause this that I can think of would be:

Old version of site got cached (All cookies were cleared, so probably not that.)
Landing on the wrong page for some reason (Verified URL)
A possible proxy caching issue (You don't use a proxy, do you?)


I can connect to the affected machine directly and troubleshoot if you care to let me.
Your call though.
Just grab teamviewer , or gotomeeting.

No, no need for that. (System Restore)

When connecting to the site if it brings you too the "EdgeGamers is under maintenance" then Right Click > view page source > and then CTRL+F > and search for <div id="cf"> > and copy everything inside there.

Once completed send me a PM and I will pass it on to the correct person.

have no idea what happened but I'm able to access the site again from my home desktop and cell phones.. thanks for the help and ideas guys :)
 
Awesome! Glad it got fixed. Still wonder what the issue was though.
 
yeah I'm still wondering that myself.. I was gone for a few days and just got back.. figured I would try it for kicks and it worked lol.. I'm not going to dwell on it too much. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen again :)
