I have at least a thousand hours on Avalanche, over the span of 4 years, and I have NEVER noticed this. Has anyone else? I feel like it is common knowledge, but I just have never looked for some reason...

1945, complete with a soda machine, in English, with a dollar bill slot and everything... what!?

I've tried my hardest to never play avalanche, so I have no clue what props were replaced for the soda machine. I wonder how many of our maps have small changes like that, because I thought it had only been flash's couch and bathtub.

I vaguely remember the gate but I don't think I've ever seen the soda machine there. LOL!

I remember there's a soda machine on Flash! It's in the field with the allied second flag.

Q - who has time to look around at the roses - I'm either dead or so busy I can't focus on any one thing.

Obviously you must stalk maps while no one is playing them - LOL

You know you have now ruined my Avalanche playing.

Take care

me too! It wasnt until a random pub brought it up, that I had to look for myself... its crazy!

Am I seriously the only one who actually knows what that IS? It's not a soda machine, it's a bottled water machine straight out of Half-life 2, also by Valve. Dr. Breen is one of the main antagonists of the game, and his "private reserve", as seen on the machine, is water - laced with something to keep the citizens complacent and suppress their memory of their old lives. One NPC goes out of his way to tell you, "Don't drink the water. They put something in it - to make you forget. I don't even remember how I got here anymore."

Yeah, but its a vending machine in a WW2 game. Its only in the map to replace a prop that someone decided needed to be taken out.

Hmmmmmmmm? So someone will put a random vending machine in ava, where nothing was before, but won't remove the lamp posts on kalt? >_<

lol I think they only remove things that constantly impede gameplay. For Flash it was an ubreakable couch and bathrub that people used to block the doors into hotel. I dunno what it was on Ava.
