Seems like good releases come out and then there are one to two horrible releases until MS comes out with another great one..

The Good / The Bad
Win95
Win98
Win2000
WinME
WinXP
WinVista
Win7
Win8

Win10? I don't know yet.. I'm not a fan of this xbox style crap, right now the ONLY thing appealing about 10 is that it is exclusively getting DirectX12, but even then.. there aren't any games that are exclusively using DX12 yet and the improvements won't be that noticeable unless you are running outdated hardware anyways..

What really irks me is how they are trying to get you into Win10, exclusive DX12, offering it for free, seems like a trap..

Well if you like your privacy then windows 10 is a no go. They have given themselves the right to read everything you type etc..
You can disable a lot in the options but you never know if you got everything turned off. What ever you do don't do express install. Windows 10 also has by default turned on that you send windows 10 files to other users... using your bandwidth! I find it absurd!

you can turn all that off. It also asks if you want it on/off during setup.

On a side note. I really like windows 10 so far. UI is nice and clean. much better than 8/8.1 IMO
 
So far, Windows 10 does have a refreshingly clean feel to it. Gaming is ok I suppose for now, havent really had a chance to try to much as the first install I had of windows 10, I came across a bug with Razer's Synapse software and Windows 10 Pro that caused the "s" key to stop working except for shift-s and ctrl-s. So I am on fresh install number 2, we will see how it goes :D

With that being said, I did hold out on going from windows 7 to windows 8 so lets hope they fixed the crappyness of windows 8 in windows 10.

You should have gone back to Win7. Beside's minor changes Win10 is just a "fancier" version of Win8. Unless you are using a touchscreen laptop/tablet you shouldn't even be using Win8.

For those of you that got suckered into Win8 from the "factory", build your own computer next time or shell out for the better OS. Just because something is new doesn't mean it's better. "Remember WinME!", "Remember Vista!", "Remember the Alamo!!!!"
 
I am not sure about windows 10, it seems that Microsoft are trying to add tablet UI and desktop UI into one OS (like they did with windows 8).

Anyone who is a current user of Windows 10, have you noticed the other mixing of UIs and how good is the workflow experience with a traditional desktop computer (rather than a laptop)?

You obviously haven't used Cortana.
 
You want to stay on 7 I won't hold it against you, but I got it and have no issues. Lots more features and stuff is easy to access. Good OS all around.

"easy to access" synonymous with "user friendly" ie "noob friendly"

Iunno dude, maybe I'm just an old time elitist when it comes to OS's. I know a lot of people don't care as long as it works. MS just wants more money so they pander to the lowest common denominator.

I might try 10 one of these days on a different partition, but it won't be any time soon.

And anyone that likes 8...:chair:

No, actually you have to go in to cmd, regedit etc to disable and delete everything ;D
