Hello gamers! These instructions are going to be for all members, and guests of our servers alike. This is going to be as detailed as I can make it, and at the same time, try to keep it simple. Once you get it right, it becomes very easy the next time.

Lets say, for example, that you are playing against a player that you have suspicions about... lets call him, Q-tip.

1. Go to spectate, and open your console. Type record Q-tip and press enter

2. Type status and hit enter, then close console. This is THE most important step, as no ban will be placed without it.

3. Press the space bar until you are in first person, and cycle through the players until you land on that rascally Q-tip fellow.

4a. Be patient. The demo reviewers normally ask for about 5 minutes of footage, although sometimes they leave before the 5 minutes is up, in which case you can just submit all you have so far. Remember, if you are in spec in a full server, the admins may not know you are recording a demo, so utilize the admin chat to alert them, and they will leave you alone. To do this, press U for team chat, and then begin your message to them with @. U@Hey guys, Im making a demo of Q-tip... thats why Im in spec

4b. Once you are on the player, when they die, immediately press tab and watch the scoreboard. As soon as the little skull disappears, that means they have respawned, and you can let go of tab. If you are not automatically on the player, simply right click or left click once and you should be right back on them. Repeat as many times as necessary.

5. When you reach the 5 minute mark, or if you KNOW that you have sufficient proof, open your console back up and simply type stop

6. Now finding your demo in your computer may be different for some... but for most, it is C:/program files x86/Steam/Steam apps/common/Day of Defeat: Source/dod

When you scroll down, thats where you will find Q-tip.dem

7. Simply start an email to [email protected], and drag that into the attachment field, and dont forget to put Q-tip in the subject field so the demo reviewers know which one to look at in tandem with your ban request, which brings us to the final step...

8. Post a ban request. If you click on Forums, either on the left side of this screen, or on the 'Forums' tab on the top right, you can scroll down to 'request ban', and follow the instructions on how to post a request with a demo. Make sure to follow the template that is there to save time.

And that, my fellow gamers, is the correct way to take a demo and submit it. I am going to close this message after posting, but if you have any questions, feel free to PM me, or any leadership member, here in the forums, or through Steam, or in Teamspeak.

Happy Hunting!
