Hey all,

A lot of you probably have no idea who I am since I've only been on the server for 2 to 3 days now, but there's a big issue I wanted to address. I'm not sure if it's kosher I post here before applying to be a member, but I wanted to put this out there.

I've heard the TTT server is new and all, and I think it could use some guidance. I'm often on when there are no admins, so most rules are broken, a big one being RDM. I took the liberty to save the SteamURLs of the major offenders. I was too tired to even think to get screenshots of each offense, but I have a member who said he's vouch for everything I witnessed: =eG= BOT J33f.

It would be nice if basic ttt rules could be implemented, and things changed to suit the normal ttt things a lot of people complain about, such as camping and how long rounds are. If there could be a discussion of rules that would be awesome. Again, I know I'm new here so not trying to say anything is wrong, I just hate seeing out angry, upset, and saddened from the server with all the crap that goes on. Even the members that are on that may have kicking powers don't do a lot about the RDM often. The only thing I always see addressed is language. RDM seems like too much work sometimes for many to bother with.

Well, I'm not sure if you know but the community is broken into divisions each division with it's own set of mods and admins. If moderators aren't available on TTT, and you have none on your friends list, try checking in on the Jail server. But only do it if necessary. Say if like someone RDM's every round or Mass RDM's but, even when admins aren't available the server has a karma system and when you RDM your karma goes down. When you karma goes too low you're auto kicked. If your karma continues to go down after that I believe it gives out auto temp bans. So even if a mod isn't online, there's still some sort of auto moderation going on.

I can't disagree that every now and then there is a lack of mods but it's not that there are no mods on ever. It's hard to keep mods on 24/7.

I will say there are some things it can't do...a guy kept calling me all sorts of words I can't repeat in the forum on the mic and kept going on and on and I couldn't do a thing. And another guy said he was kicked 8 times for rdm and would keep doing it since it never did any form of ban.

utilize teamspeak/cross-server admin chat.
in teamchat, put &message replacing message with whatever you want the message to be. This will send a message to admins on all the other cs servers.

Also, when people constantly RDM, make sure to copy the logs printed out at the end of the round. This way you have proof of wrongdoing and can submit a ban request.
Admining RDM in itself is somewhat difficult though, as we have to find out whether or not a players intent to kill someone was justifiable. This is something a plugin cannot do.

As she said, I vouch for each of these and they were literally a fraction of what we saw tonight in game. RDM's were off the chain and for reasons that were as thin as tissue paper, at best.

L1on would say something like, "I heard gunfire" and then I went passed him and died.
Or Atari, "I was afraid when you passed me" ... when he was hiding behind a door and I didn't even know he was there.
Or Lauren's favorite excuse, "They shot first." Really? 3 people in the same round?

There was another guy who didn't speak any English and didn't try to read the rules and wasted all the T's, as a CT, because.

The rules don't seem to be vague to me, but there isn't any ramifications for RDM'ing if there isn't an admin available to do something about it. There should be some sort of institution like Hostie killing, where 2 RDM's gets you server kicked and 3 is a six hour ban, or something.

The problem with this is a plugin cannot determine justification for shooting someone. If you shoot someone because they shot at you, but missed, and you are both innocent, a plugin would say it's rdm and you would get in trouble for defending yourself instead of the other guy for traitor baiting as an innocent. Plugins cannot determine a players reasoning for acting the way they do, making it impossible for one to effectively handle a server when no admins are on.

It is probably best to add some admins on steam (any eG's or eGO's). If you don't have any that are on, make sure to utilize the cross-server chat as RDK previously said.

I'm just going to repeat what has been said several times.
Use cross Server chat. By this point of this thread you should have a few different admins on your steam friends(I'm there too!) and can also always message them.

I'll definitely use the cross server admin chat, that's really cool. And I'll add you guys when I get on. It was my bad for not screenshotting logs, I've been an admin on ttt for years so I understand that it isn't easy to figure out what is completely rdm and what is an accident etcetera I guess what I would like to ask for is just for admin or mod ranks for your ttt players and maybe the auto kick to kick in more quickly? As I said, I guy said he did it 8 times with no ramification other than kicks. And more administration on the server would help get rid of the extremely rude trollers also as aforementioned.

What hype and RDK said is spot on. The TTT server can be very hard to admin on. You have 20 people all talking at once and that plugin sends 5 messages a round. I try my best to look at the logs at the end of every round to determine whats really RDM but it can still be challenging to do so. As hype said, we recommend typing @ in team chat and reporting the problems as they happen to help us.

But you are right, a lot of times no admins are on the server. I've been trying to spend most of my playtime on the TTT server to help out but thats certainly not 24/7. As others have said, your best approach is to add admins on steam and let them know when theirs a problem, I can almost guarantee an admin will come to help if no other admins are on it.
