Win7 FOREVER

For people who were forced into Win8 with a recent laptop purchase, Win10 is better than Win8. If you have access to Win7 don't waste it. Yes Win10 is DX12 exclusive, but the changes in DX12 that make it more efficient/better has the best results on hardware that is slightly outdated and/or underpowered already. If you have a nice system you will not notice huge gains.

Also, Win10 tracks and reports almost everything you do even if you turn it off and tell it you don't want it to report. You have to change multiple settings and even edit the Registry to even attempt to stop it from reporting.

Win10 is free. Nuff said. That alone is reason to not upgrade. You get what you pay for, there is a reason they are offering it for free. With most things that are free or offer you some sort of discount they are making money off of you somehow behind the scenes that you might not totally be aware of without sifting through user agreements.

Free almost always = trap. Microsoft is one of the biggest sellouts, so it's almost 100% guaranteed in my book.

In short, if you have Win8 then Win10 might be better for you. Just be careful and make sure you turn off all the reporting/spying.

I'll be on Win7 until they force me off by cutting off support like they got me to upgrade from XP to Win7 by killing XP support...
More info: Corporations are using Win7. Less bloat :chair:
 
If it weren't for the complete lack of privacy on my part, I would probably upgrade in a year or so. However, if they don't fix this issue within that time frame, I'm going straight to Linux once support is offically cut off for Windows 7.
 
I have it on my laptop only because I don't want to screw over my desktop but so far I love it.
 
It works great for regular activities, but for gaming I have too many issues with connections and such. League of Legends does NOT like Windows 10 :(
 
I love windows 7 more then windows 10, but windows 10 is good. Windows 7 I feel is better then windows 10
 
Windows 10 does NOT like MC. I had to uninstall and reinstall it and uninstall java.
 
If I upgraded to Win10, I'm worried that I won't be able to pay TF2 or Skyrim. Scratch that, I'm worried that Steam won't be compatible.

I haven't had a single problem with MC or any other games. The tracking most people mentioned is meant to improve cortana accuracy.
 
I upgraded my work PC to Windows 10 and I haven't played around with it enough to say I love it, but it's definitely better than Windows 8.1 which was on there before. I like it, not sure about love it yet though.
 
Windows 7/8 was a great system for tablets, but the change was just too much for the desktop. I took the upgrade, and it messed up my PunkBuster; it took three days before I was back in the game.
 
I don't like automatic windows updates. Ended up reversing back to 8.1 after 2 days. I'm waiting..................................
