Lerp?

Anyone have any idea why my lerp is at 14.9 ms and yellow (as opposed to white)? And does this cause any problems?

It's yellow because that means your lerp is too low that it is starting to give you packet loss which affects your overall registry in the game. The ideal lerp is the lowest you can get before it turns to yellow. It all depends on your internet speed.

It was at 100 ms previously, which i find to be interesting as my ping in game ranges from <10 to around 30. Config issue?

For what it's worth, BF4 and Rocket League are both fine.

Run a traceroute to one of the server IPs and see what comes up..Since you're in FL it shouldn't be very high at all, or take very many hops on the traceroute, so I'm guessing it's either a config issue as you mentioned or routing-path issue.

Yes, just raise it a little at a time until it turns white. Mine is still white at 19.9, but I just keep it at 30, and that seems to work just fine

Thanks for the info guys. I'll comb my config. Here's a trace route to the server.

There is no problem with your connection. You just need to increase your cl_interp setting. Try 0.021 or higher.

The server has a 15ms tick if you try to send packets faster than that, or to have the server send you more, you get "choke."

You can also get choke if the total size of packets over a certain timeframe exceeds your rate.

You should always let interp ratio handle your lerp. 2 gives leeway for dropping a packet or if your fps dips below 67; 1 means greater accuracy but people will jump around a lot more on your screen as there is less smoothing.

Servers are 100ms tick rate and the interp ratio should be set at 1 while using cl_interp (this is the interpolation rate) to adjust lerp.

The lower the interpolation the closer the client and server are to the "true value" of the packets. There are diminishing returns to this and you will know when you hit this point as your lerp will be orange and then yellow which mean you are starting to lose packets because the server and client cannot communicate efficiently.
