Tech Help Feedback On First Build

So this is my first build. Finally decided on parts and what monitor to get. :biggrin:
Before I bought all the parts I wanted to run this by you guys here who have more tech knowledge than me and see what you all thought of it and if you have anything to recommend or suggest and also to just get some general feedback on the build/parts.

I'm going to sound like a broken record, but I'd change the motherboard, RAM, and CPU. If you're building a completely new system, you should just go ahead and move to Skylake. Get the i7-6700K for $20 more, whenever it becomes available. You can go with the same manufacturer, or another, for an LGA 1151 socket mobo, and get the new DDR4 memory standard 8x2 modules.

Mind if I ask why you're going with a 1TB SSD + 3TB HDD?

Looks good to me other than the CPU, as snipe eye stated, wait til the 6700k Comes out, And imho go 16GB Ram, IF you want, you have that extra buffer zone. Other then that, looks fine. Now, with that being said, there will be many discounts, sales and so forth coming up for Newegg and other sites on parts,just don't go with one site as well, take your time, before you go all balls out. If you need any help with prices, spec, software, etc, leave me a PM, i'll be glad to help ya out.

The HAF 932 is old and bad relative to more modern cases.

The PSU is like about 250W beyond overkill.

The CPU is outdated.

The motherboard is outdated.

The RAM will not be compatible with anything that isn't outdated.

Get a cheaper case. You don't need a full sized tower for this.

CPU is ok, but I'm starting to cater towards skylake.

DDR4 prices are on par with DDR3 nowadays. Look at how much 2x4GB modules are for DDR3 and DDR4. Price difference is a lot lower than when DDR2 moved to DDR3 around the same time when DDR3 was becoming the new standard.

Side note: I like the case, but you can get cheaper. Unless you honestly plan on reusing this case for future builds, then buying a full tower case makes sense. I've reused the previous version of this same case for the last 2 new builds I've done (over 7 year time span). The only issue I've had is the move from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0, the case doesn't have USB3 ports on the front panel.

Pretty simple answer lol. I have a lot of files I need to store. Currently I have my internal 500 gb HDD almost full along with 2 1TB external drives full. I would like to move all my stuff off of the externals (because they are crap)

The current CPU doesn't support DDR4. DDR4 Ram is going to new standard for RAM as DDR3 is most likely going to phase out. If you do intended updrade down the line, its ideal to go with newest cpu, as it support DDR4 which would likely to be cheaper than DDR3 RAM.

Mhmm I hadnt really considered DDR4 since I thought it still wasnt widely used by most ppl.

Any idea when Skylake is going to come out? I havent heard anything about release dates for it.

It's already released. Just manufacturing hasn't caught up with demand yet. The i5 version is available; the i7 is still in limited quantities.
