I would very much like to see a screenshot of this.
But what you're saying, if I'm understanding you correctly, is that the red component is not being displayed in game? But it is in windows? Do you play any other Direct3D games? Does this only occur in TF2? Does it occur even at the loading screen (the background in game has some red in it, is it red?)?

Actually, a screen shot is a good idea. Look at the screenshot outside of your game and make sure it's still got goofy colors. Then, try some other 3d games and see how those behave. On many cards, the 2D and 3D graphics capabilities used to be separated, although I honestly don't know how true that is anymore.
If the screenshot looks normal, then you might have a problem with your card, or it could be simply a case of pulling it look, reseating it, then putting it back in. You might also have a cable problem, although one would think that would show up all the time .. unless you're running SLI, which might also effect it.

A screenshot is pulled from your video card's buffer, if the screenshot looks fine on other computers it should look fine on yours. The only common variable is the monitor. How old is it? It sounds like it is dying. Monitors usually just get dim before they die, less contrast between the colors. But occasionally a specific element dies earlier than the rest and you get a tint to the display.

Ya, it's either a monitor, or a monitor cable. I know some old cables can have slightly bent pins, bad connection, etc, which can screw up the picture. you should probably test out a new monitor or your old monitor on another computer to make sure.
PS. in the monitor world, Yellow is made by adding Red to Blue. So his monitor shows up red with blue when only red should be show? weird. What shade of yellow (roughly) is your monitor showing?

Have your checked the temps from your graphics card? If you shut your system off for the night and you turn it back on, does it work good then start changing to yellow? Have you tried to play with the VGA cable? I assume its a VGA cable because DVI would send out digital signal and that should not cause color distortion. If its a new LCD, it should have come with both a VGA and DVI cable.
The reason I suspect the video card itself is because it sounds like its not getting enough cooling causing artifacts or color distortions. You say your card will crash and you end up having to restart your PC. I had a friend just recently who's ATI card fan went out and was causing similar problems. Just some thoughts.

Honestly the best way to eliminate the monitor is to hook the monitor up to another PC, if it has the problem, its the monitor, if it doesnt, its not. OR...hook a different monitor up to your computer, if it has the problem its your computer and not your monitor, if it doesnt have the problem its your new monitor.
I know you would like to think your new monitor is still good, but reality is, things do go bad in that short of time, could just be a defect or a lose cable inside that got jiggled looser.
Try to find a way to eliminate the monitor and then you can take further steps

I know you're getting a lot of input from different people here but most of them are telling the right thing. It doesn't matter how old a component is, you may very well have gotten a lemon from the manufacturer, it happens, manufacturing defects do occur. In an LCD it's common for a single color to stop diplaying when a part is going out and the fact that it looks borked up on your screen but perfect on other people's computers says that it's not in the computer but in the monitor. It's a good thing that it's only a few months old, that means it's still under warranty so you should be able to get it fixed for free. Finally, what's it gonna hurt to hook up a different monitor just to find out?

When doing troubleshooting of any problem, always work from the outside in, simple to complex. So, the first thing to check is the cable, then the monitor (maybe a self-test?), then the card. You can even check for software issues by booting to a liveCD for another OS (Gentoo, Ubuntu, Knoppix).
A long time ago I had a bad video card that kept killing monitors. At the time, I'd just thought I had bad luck buying used monitors from garage sales. =P
Among dying monitors, I kept seeing the red color either becoming very dim or nonexistant, or shifting hue dramatically. One monitor went REALLY fuzzy, another caught on fire.
If you hook up another monitor (try a friend's?) and it works, it was your monitor. If, within a couple of days (or hours) that monitor starts giving you problems, it's your graphics card or motherboard killing the monitor and you might need to give it a change.

Usually a monitor will only die if a video card is sending info that a monitor shouldn't be displaying. Make sure that your monitor is capable of displaying the resolution the card is sending to it. (Proper drivers for both the card and the monitor make sure that's not an issue.)

I recommend not using a friend's computer to test your vid card. or else you may end up having to buy your friend a new monitor

yeah, i'll try the process of elimination
man, i hope my moniter and/or card isn't dying, expensive crap. And i certanly dont want to send it into get it repaired, that would suck, since I'm addicted o TF2
