Just an off topic any member here a police, fire, or emergency medical personnel, volunteer or paid, if so elaborate or specify details at your own discretion.

I myself am a Volunteer Firefighter/ Haz-Mat Technician for my town's fire dept. I basically put out fires and control or contain Hazardous Materials such as chemicals. It's been an extraordinary experience for me and I personally recommend trying it. It's a great family and organization such as edge has seem to be since i have joined. They both seem to grasp a great comradery, maturity and fellowship. I am also hopefully going to become a police officer either in North Carolina or New Jersey. Anyway I'm really interested and curious...(If anyone has any questions about me or what I do and I am more than welcome to enlighten you as long as it is nothing personal)

I appreciate everything so far and thank you again guys for allowing me to be part of Edge...

Emergency Med. Tech - Basic. Nationally and Colorado certified. in college, but i applied for 3 jobs over spring break. 2 hospitals and the ambulance company American Medical Response

I am a Volunteer Firefighter for my town as well. In our Engine Co. I am also part of our FD Drill team, aka FD Racing. If you are unsure of what our drill team does heres a nice little video about it (http://youtube.com/watch?v=a8-4mfY5v2g). It's an awesome experience and I am most likely going to join FDNY when i become of age. Good to see some others in edge like myself Blue.

Do hospital employees count? I am not technically an "emergency worker" per se, but when the Medics and EMTs dump 'em, they dump 'em on us!
I am a Student Nurse (less than a year until I get to put the initials RN after my name!) and I work in an OR at a large Level 1 Trauma center. If you break it, odds are we can put it back together!

I work in the youth justice and group home area :)

Deal with the cops enough as it is to know em by a first name. Sucks too, 15 year olds threatening to kill the staff (like me) who try and help em :(

Ski Patrol at a local ski hill. Unfortunately I currently can not do any medical processes until I am 18, unless an emergency and there are no other trained medical people (who would be above me in medical training).

So in medical terms I am an EMT, just short a couple more hours of class.

I'm kind of in the same boat as M3dley, but I'm a ski instructor and had to take and very extensive (and boring) class on first aid. I always have to carry things like splints, bandages, epinephrine injectors and the like in a backpack.

I also have to assess any injured people I see on the slopes and have to give the ski patrol a rundown on what's wrong and what they need medically, though I confess, they're usually just someone that thought it'd be fun to snowboard after dropping acid.

I know it's not technically the Medical field, but I usually have to deal with 1-3 medical situations/emergencies a month, ranging from anaphylactic shock (my second day on the job I might add) to a guy who paralyzed himself by running head first into a tree (I still can't figure how he did that).
