Thought I might make a post to share this amazing phenomenon just in case someone might not know of it. Tomorrow night the moon will experience both a perigee (the point at which the moon is at its closest orbital position to the Earth) and lunar eclipse at the same moment, causing both a supermoon and a blood moon. The moon will appear 14% larger and 30% brighter due to its position, with the added effect of a red shade due to the lunar eclipse. The event takes multiple decades between occurrences, with the last happening in 1982 and the next in 2033.
[Edit] Optimal times to see this would be around 10:11 EST/9:11 CST at which the total eclipse is set to occur.
