I really, REALLY hate season passes. No guarantee that the expansions are good or even worthwhile. I'll sit back and watch and make sure the initial is even worth my time and money, without giving them anything up front based on a "promise."

I'm in this boat too. Even the initial game itself, running at a cost of $70 or $80 is a LOT for me right now as a student. I might sit back, wait a year perhaps, get the GOTY edition that may come out like some games do, and join the battle then. It's hard to justify it.

But the value is obviously there ;). I mean for the extra $10 of the deluxe digital you get instant access to 3 items that you can achieve for free in a few rounds, and 2 whole exclusive emotes.

Do you think a person who preorders a game forfeits their right to complain if that game comes up short? Not saying it's a specific rule, but in general. When a dev swaps out features (or doesn't implement them) and they were part of the lure for the beta, that's one thing. When you knowingly preorder without being given any specific details how the game will work or release, that's another.

One example I can think of is Cube World vs Prison Architect. One game the dev's essentially disappeared, whereas the other have been vocal about telling pre-orderers and beta testers what they can expect in the game. The difference with this is that they're both indie developers compared to the large developers like Activision-Blizzard, EA, and Bioware.

Hardline had a 7 Million people participate in its beta...

Wonder how much the Star Wars Brand influenced that number. Hell I wonder how many more months 2 million buys you on PC? Might make it to the first DLC this time?

Don't get my wrong tho. I do want this game to succeed, but I think a lot of things need to change before that happens.

Not really , a consumer always has the right to complain if the product is not what it was supposed to . If they have a real complaint or not would depend on the eula , what was promised . They always have a right to refund with ea for 30 days i think...could be wrong on the amount of days.

I wish they could put some better items in that deal..a gun an outfit ...something! Emotes...really wtf.

24 hours upon launching the game.

Refund requests can be made within 24 hours after you first launch the game, within seven days from your date of purchase, or within seven days from the game?s release date if you pre-ordered, whichever comes first.

Not the days i thought , guess people better decide if they like it fast or not lol.

That's the issue I was saying. If people are preordering the game without being informed what is being packaged, then you are forfeiting your right to complain. Investors don't give up their money to start-ups without finding out how the company operates and if it actually has potential. People pre-ordering the game shouldn't do so unless they know what they're getting themselves into. A perfect example would be Assassin's Creed Unity. Talk about a joke of a launch. I'm still hesitant about buying the next AC game because I'm making sure there are no bugs or issues as bad as Unity was.

Yeah, it's hard to tell these days. Bf4 beta was great for me. Then the game launched and it went to hell. It's playable now but not without problems, it's a chance you take for sure but I also believe when one's hard earned money is at stake the right to complain is always an option. These days voicing our dislikes with a company is about our only recourse.

I totally agree. the choices to pre-order is exactly a choice. You can easily wait until launch to buy this if you want, waiting first to see some reviews of the release game. There is nothing I can see that you get special simply by pre-ordering.

Companies continue to pull this crap because we keep falling for it.

ew^

You can buy a vadar sticker and put it on your PC if thats why you're buying that...

When Electronic Arts announced the $50 Star Wars Battlefront DLC pass last month, the publisher didn't say much about what it would include. EA is still not ready to divulge all the details, but now we've learned some of what will be included. Speaking during a recent earnings presentation, EA COO Peter Moore teased that the four expansion packs will add "new universes" and more to the sci-fi shooter.

"What we've announced is four extra packs over the next 12-18 months coming post launch," he said. "You'll see new universes, you're gonna see new player actions, obviously new weaponry as well."

The Battlefront DLC pass sells for $50. Everyone who buys it gets access to all the new content two weeks before everyone else, as well as an exclusive "Shoot First" emote. Official details regarding the content of the Battlefront DLC pass will be announced in the "coming weeks," EA said.

Assuming EA and DICE follow the same setup as the recent Battlefield games, the DLC packs are likely to cost $15 each. Moore went on to to say that DLC passes like the one for Battlefront are "integral" to keeping players engaged after a game's initial release.

Also during the call, Moore revealed that preorder numbers for Battlefront are "excellent," though he did not share any specifics.

Battlefront launches on November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. That's about a month before the release of Disney's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first new Star Wars movie in a decade.
