So im gonna invest in a GoPro Camera for my upcoming Spartan Beast race. For those of you who own 1, what is the best size micro sd card to get, 32 or 64gb? Some people include the 32gb, but I dunno what the size difference is on it. Will 32gb hold enough video for a 4+ hour obstacle run?

I can get a 64GB MicroSD card for about $30 which isn't a huge amount of money., but definitely a lot of space. Using GoPro's website, they give a breakdown on the storage times a 64 GB SD card can hold and the battery life.

A 32GB at 1080p-60fps will only hold about 2:15 hrs of video before maxxing out. Which will coincide when the battery will die out on the gopro. So if you're trying to record video throughout the entire race, you're going to need a second or third battery and 1 or 2 more 32GB SD cards.

I say go with the 64GB SD card (get that and maybe a 2nd 64GB or 1 32GB), and get another battery.

Forgot to add; you want to make sure you get a fast SD card. Level 6 is the minimum, but I suggest go with Level 10. Definitely makes a difference to the video and battery life over time.

Hey man thanks for the help on that. I do plan to get a class 10 if not whatever the next step up is (something like uhs 1 or w/e that class is called). Also can you recommend a great place to get multiple batteries for super cheap as im gonna go ahead & record for 2 hours on 1 battery & then switch out the batteries. Found an original for a good cheap price. I do plan on upgrading to GoPro 3 sometime next year.
