The Journey of my antique system.

Lets see here in BF2 after moving from Delta Force Black Hawk Down where I originally started my old clan Disciples of War -DoW- I purchased a crapper Gateway PC for upgrade was a total waste of money already 6mths out of date as most box store pcs are. [I used a old old EMachines in BHD and also ran a server from my house on unmetered connection was really sweet was best server in game I think I had 1gig of memory also this was the Battlefield before BF was awesome game in it's time crap graphics great gameplay till they let it go]

I was then convinced to build my own PC was scared had no idea about them this was in 2006 and a late entry into the game 1yr+. I did it was easy threw in a 680i EVGA MB for a few hundred hours my guess 300-500 at most then swapped over to the 780i FTW [2008] I still use today for BF4 :scared:

Just game hours and always Overclocked cpu

BF2

Time played: 1,533 Hours (meet in middle -400 hours for 680i MB time from full time above for total)

BF3
Time played 1261hrs 19mins

BF4
[As of now] Time played 263hrs 42mins

2658 hours after 400hr deduction in Battlefield series

Going with 3000 + overall hours from BF series to AC4
So over 3,000 hours of overclocked cpu gaming played out and no telling how many multiple 1,000's of hours, running clan, website, graphics, theme design and just all day daily stuff.

Still have all CPU's and working fine!
1st CPU E6300 intel dual core 45nm pulled from gateway junk [only used that pc a little over a month still have it good dust catcher lol]
2nd CPU bought a E8400 1st gen dual core 3ghz - high OC'd
3rd CPU just got for bf4 Q9550 E0 stepping [ 1 awesome cpu even for 1st gen 45nm's]

All constant overclocked 24/7 I recently underclocked my OC on my Q9550 some for stability since the boards so old, I don't have time to run stress test on ever Voltage and BIO's adjustment for complete stability. Running 3.2ghz now right near stock Voltages no issues and no more BSOD's knock on wood lol.

I also just got the very last gaming DDR2 for my board New Gskill pc8500 DDr2 4x2GB @1066 5-5-5-15 2T maxed out from 4x1GB old OCZ Reaper - 2.1V [$200+ wowsers but needed lol]

Added the EVGA 660 sc gtx GTX card also for BF4 [toasted first card was going out anyways replaced quickly by EVGA RMA]

Added 128gb Kingston V300 SSD with 4-port PCIe controller card to bypass no support for AHCI and having a 2.0 interface USB/SATA/etc does good right at 400mbps read/write. [Only goes to Sata 5 speeds on board but gets it done]

Added 2 x 1TB WD Black Edition HD's with dual processors 250 speed on controller card, Sata III's [store games, programs, work, graphics etc on these]

I did this due to starting my own business this year budget is investing first year that comes first so new build is on back burner just, also just updated to last bio's set 1mth ago lol

All in all this board has been through the ringer and hours, I would say equal or more amount of time out of gameplay work on PC so the hours are super high up there well past 5,000 hrs still has the stock battery also :() and I have no idea the lifespan hours on these boards searched came up with noda. Only thing it has been through is failed gfx cards pushed to hard or just went bad.

Now I did do a clean reinstall right before joining eGO took me 7 reinstalls on Win7 HP x64 to get ethernet drivers to work and even then had to use moded drivers for it to function right. ----Thanks to Fernando for continuing to code/modding the 4-7 series MB/Ethernet and more drivers] --- at http://www.win-raid.com/t15f37-NVIDIA-Optimized-nForce-Driverpacks-for-Vista-Win.html
Had speed drops from 94mbps to 2mbps back and forth and download speeds in kb's which should be 12+ files transfer. So the board may be near end of life or it could of been something with controller card interferring [but it was in then out same results also used win7 dvd and USB Win7 install with slipstreamed SP1 in it God Mode "current" it could be something else who knows reinstalled over the years probably 100+ times like it clean, optimized and running smooth always. Me nor EVGA had a clue on this one.

Needless to say this is why I always go with EVGA on MB's and GFX Cards superior hardware and killer support with great warranties and ship to you RMA's then return dead or damaged part back.

Still have another brand new in box 680i se just sitting in drawer lol.

My next purchase is to replace my power supply I don't feel comfortable with it old crappy corsair 680 full of dust :bored:... I will be going with a P2 or G2 EVGA 750Watt on up PSU they carry 10yr warranties. After that will need a CPU/Up to date Memory/Case/better gfx card can do later.

yeah I would say its about time for that all these years lol. I'm about done dishing out money keeping this system going

:) mine is older yet and still runs 24/7. I started gaming in 99-00 and I had a saved from scrap PIII that worked just fine until I bought my Dell and for the first year I used it it was fine[ I tore it apart after the warranty was up] and decided to build my own from it. I had played all of Novalogics games on a team you may or may not recognize...-KoV- Knights of Valor. Its a P4 2.4 Ghz OC'd to 3.4Ghz with a medium sized HDD a 60GB with 2 gigs of RAM now 4 and the very last AGP produced. I still use it at least once a month to pull music off of it. Before 2010 it ran 24/7 for eight years.

One thing for sure it makes a nice room heater...

Yeah mines a heater too lol good for cold winter mornings ha

and yes that team sounds really familiar that game people still play it don't see how the old graphics make me wanna puke but all the maps I made still are sought for and played there were some of the best made Nova loved them lol

Think system is about to kick bucket I am going to order new battery it is plausible that it could be a or the issue as old as it is.

Tested yesterday after relentless crashing after new nvidia drivers reverted same crap, downloaded shockwave player to counteract crashing it helped get on TS and it goes to 100% game crash rate.

Played off TS yesterday no crash at all after shockwave installed.

On OC boards not handling anything now past 1564 FSB @ 3.3ghz should be able to do 3.6 on stock voltage with this E0 Q9550 easy and 4ghz just bumping voltage up a little nothing but BSOD though.

Going to order new battery tomorrow for MB last ditch effort because my game is super laggy now no matter what I do.

I can tell it is a board issue bio's time load has increased about x2 past that SSD/OS runs normal but game lags bad.

Only other thing to do is try system image restore see if something conflicted on install, seems it started when I installed steam. I may use my fresh install image and go from there yay not!

After 3 1/2 days of crap crashing got bio's tweeked reset and stable with OC back to 3.6 no BSOD.

Game crashing has diminished a lot not all the way even with reinstall and repair, I put shockwave player on system and knock it out about 75% or more it helped a lot.

Going to run back to back games for stability and push it a few hours then load TS and get back on been boring playing in silence better than crashing and leaving/joining TS every 5-10mins on the dot all day.

Definitely sounds like you picked a good build, and certainly got your moneys worth out of it! I was running a similar setup for a few years, but saved up for a much larger setup that's a bit more current. But hey, if it isnt broken and works for you, keep it up!

Thought I fried it the other day why I have not been on, was watching a movie bzzzz OFF, would kick on a sec then shut down.

Knew it had to be cpu or PSU which was super old anyways and gave to me yearsd ago on this build. Ordered a EVGA G2 750 with 10yr warranty and quick hooked it today in middle of work booted right back up yuppie still going so I will be back gaming asap got to re-run wires had to do quick check or start ordering a new build lol

Anyone wondering why lack of TS but most needing to know already know.

System crashing.

Yeah it is old have to have OC to play, removed sound card thought that fixed it because game and origin was stable loaded TS then lockup.

I always OC this board has been 24/7 OC even if I had a new EVGA Z170 classified mb and best skylake with 64gig of ram would still OC.

Anyways got 2 days in no crash then it happen first thing next moring just in browser then in game.

Been stressing it hard yesterday was off all day my pops 73 bday. Everything stressed fine no issues crashed first game ran memtest overnight 8 passes not 1 error.

Only other thing is could be bad core in cpu or MB just failing slowly.

Reverted voltages and OC seem stable for now @ 3.4ghz and mem. on 2.5V but need to be at 2.1 for max performance bullets not working great at 2.25V a little better on 2.5 will work up later played with Paper and them a few games no issue besides memory latency.

So when you ask come on TS when I'm crashing that is a no because OC'ing is in and out tweeking voltages little by little till you get the stable/unstable point. The crashing coming in and out of TS over and over is annoying to me and others I would imagine.

So see how it goes from here would build up a new rig asap but dumped way to much $$$$$ in my new biz this year for new build. But will later on soon I hope...

Just letting everyone know!!!

Always on TS when I'm stable tired of hearing get on TS more when I been explaining this issue for weeks lol
