Some of you might know, or may not, but OP:X has recently picked this game up. However this game has been under the radar for a bit, so if you have not heard of it, that is alright. Obsidian Entertainment has been making headway on their new game.
Here is a brief run down.
Armored Warfare is a direct competitor to World of tanks. As of now it is a bit similar, however RNG is less then 10%, unlike world of tanks which is way higher, and in favor of new players over vets. The grind is also way faster then world of tanks.
So if Armored Warfare is like world of tanks....what makes it stand different?
Well, glad you asked! Armored Warfare is set in Modern/Near future. This means you have a wider range of tech then you do in the world war 2 era tanks. To name off a few..
Anti Tank Guided Missiles, a wide variety of shells such as AP, HE, HESH, Heat, HEI, Thermo Missiles and more. The arty has its own shell types like Flares, to locate the enemy tanks in a small area, Smoke rounds to provide cover and standard HE rounds.
What else is different? Well some tanks let you change their appearance with upgrades such as ERA plates, DU Armour and cage. Sure this game has Health Bars, but the game style is a faster pace world of tanks with a mix of realistic and arcade. Oh and getting killed in 1 shot is very rare. Most tanks can also 'POP' smoke to cover their advance or run away for cover from the arty warning signal.
Armored Warfare also has a Base function that everyone gets. The buildings get you discounts on Repair costs, More credit earning, more free xp and commander xp, discount on premium time and more to come. Each day you get 100 resources to help you build.
Oh, did I mention that the game has both PvE and PvP. Yeah, you read that right.
The game is fun, and it is 100% free. EdgeGamers has a battalion so you don't have to game alone. Currently Armored Warfare is in Open Beat testing, so more features are on the way like more dealers, camo, Tier 9 and 10, Amphibious function that lets certain tanks swim and a very in depth campaign for PvE.
