So before I start this I would like to let you guys know that I know there used to be a Call Of Duty Division.
So as many people know Black Ops 3 is coming out this Friday (11/6/1015) and is highly anticipated by the CoD community. Even though I don't know what happened to the CoD division before I was thinking if anyone has thought about trying to put it back up. Now I don't know what happened to the CoD division before, I haven't been here very long, and many people in CS:GO I know have negative connotations on CoD, but please hear me out.
This year CoD BO3 has made a deal with Sony to make them their main system and is super important, but I'll get to that in a second. The CoD competitive community is also growing tremendously and is not that hard to get into since it's played by console peasants.
Now I'm going to write the Pro's and Con's of making a CoD Division to be fair.
Pros:
1. Since Competitive CoD is going to start being played on PS4 it means that all the current competitive teams are going to have to get used to the new controllers and play a bit differently.
2. It's a new game which means almost everyone in the game is going to be looking for a clan to join to start ranking up and getting ready for UMG/GB (Which is competitive CoD) and if they see a good clan with lots of members are going to be very inclined to join.
3. Since the game will also be new there would be a lot of stream-able/YouTube-able content which can attract people to eGO (But this may not really need a division for)
4. It doesn't have to be a competitive only clan since you can host those in the GB's and could be just for fun which can also attract a lot of people to eGO
5. If you make the clan and it falls through then you really don't lose anything really at all.
6. You could put up a poll to see who would join in eGO and if they would join for competitive play or just for fun to see if it's worth making or if there would be any leaders from eGO.
Cons:
1. It's on console..... That means that being on team speak at the same time would be nearly impossible unless you had a sick headset setup and it may not be accessible to all eGO members
2. Most of you might barely know me or not know me at all and are wondering what I'm doing here.
3. This also calls for a leader/leaders for the clan who put a lot of time into the game which means that unless we have a lot of PS4 players who are going to plan on playing BO3, then we are going to have to find leaders/have very few.
4. Getting people to sign up for this sight without a division with the funky forums would be probably be difficult.
5. THIS IS WHERE YOU PUT ANYTHING BAD THAT HAPPENED IN THE COD DIVISION LAST.

And so yeah I know it might seem weird and on such short notice with most of eGO not planning on making a BO3 division. I thought it could still be fun even if it's not a comp division and we have like small events.

Leave replies on what you think or make a poll or whatever. If you could also tell me what happened before that would be cool and thanks for reading this long Forums :D

EGO ROCKS!!!!

BlindBeast I definitely appreciate the enthusiasm you have, but there are two problems that come to mind at first:

1. Call of Duty is mainstream/competitive on consoles and not really on pc.
2. We cannot bring up our own servers to manage/monitor the gameplay.

Many years ago there was a thriving COD division. With the way new COD games go, it lacks the abilities to make a dedicated server for it, thus it can't be admined and monitored. Sadly. COD on PC has slowly died off as of the past few years for this kind of stuff. I wish it could be a thing again but the COD4 days are long gone.

The idea of a console division has been brought up time and time again, but will probably never be a reality.

We tried with AW last year, got around 15 people on our squad (think that's what they were called), tried to schedule a few events, had a TS room, and even did a competitive competition. But it still was not enough to get into opx, let alone just into eGO. The only plus and chance with this game is it's made by Treyarch, which in the past we've seen them care more about their games than other cod developers and might bring in more people because of it. I for one will be waiting a couple weeks to read some reviews on it before buying.

I can say that playing the Beta for BO3 was a great experience and made me a little more excited for the game. Also just a random fun fact, the last CoD game to have a Beta where players could give feed back was the legendary World at War, which was one of the greats of the series. So I have a little more hope for this than AW.

BlindBeast, I'm in your shoes as well. I was in the COD Division when it existed and COD on PC died a few years ago. I know that there probably won't be an official reboot of a COD Division, I think we even tried to have an Xbox division for a very short time. I think the best bet would be to create a BO3 Group and have everyone in that group supply their PSN ID and XBOX ID so that when you see anyone online you can play together. I actually think I am going to ask some of the higher ranking comminity members If I can Create an eGO clan for PS4 so that I can at least run with the tags when I play ranked play.

Thanks for the responses everyone, I just really enjoy eGO and if I could play with the same amazing people on one of my favorite games, I would enjoy it even more :)

To put it quite simply there was a big change from CoD4 to CoDMW2 and the =(eGO)= admins couldn't kick anyone in their servers anymore so they took the division away. The support has died out for PC as well, Ghosts is almost 100% deserted.

They just keep releasing more Call of Duty games and they dont even have enough players to fill their OLD servers.

So all in all, cod is kinda whack, pllay Battlefield 4.

Sadly yes, after many years of thriving COD4 and COD5 (Which died first), the ability to do dedicated servers was gone.

The current games certainly are different. A few friends and myself went out to the midnight launch and have only played maybe 5 matches total... there's major issues plaguing the game right now that make it almost unplayable on 360.

But the sad truth is pretty much what these other dudes told you. CoD games end up dead or dying on the PC but will probably do better on consoles.

In regards to starting a division for a new game, you should browse the forums a bit and get accustomed to the fact that there is already a system in place to recommend new games for eGO to adopt. The Op:X division is pretty much the miscellaneous games division and if any game has a chance to start a new division it will probably come from the pine-scented bowels of said division.
