Tech Help Battlefield 4 & Steam - works only about 25% of the time

I think there's some kinda block on my web access. Does anyone know how to get around this and play whenever I want without accessing the web admin controls(basically, cllient-side)?

I guess that you will have to fiddle around with your routers' settings then http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/

Sorry, but just a bit confused with this..what is it exactly you are trying to do?

- Are you trying to play the game through Steam without the Origin overlay, the Battlelog web-client, or..?

- Does the error popup anytime you launch the game, including just through Origin, or only through Steam?

it's not on steam so through origin and web.

That program doesnt work for me

I had same issue with AC4 BF had to open ports to play it, it did work though during my BF3 off time.

This is what I been dealing with on BF4 last few days thoug not related but installed shockwave player {SLIM} cured it but getting on TS will cause a crash for some reason just posted was replacing my board battery tomorrow it is super old.

Try this with HDD or SSD.

Click start type cmd
Run as admin if you have that stuff running
type sfc /scannow check your disk for any corruption of OS files

I was having the same very aggravating issue. Did you try disabling your antivirus? I excluded the folders for my game install and that seemed to fix my ability to join servers. I then had issues with where the game wouldn't let me join a queue, so I ended up stomping on my router and buying a new one. All works now.

Yeah I own a company that distributes effective anti-virus so I got that covered.

I figured it out.

I was using too much bandwidth through BF4 and TeamSpeak. I've cut down a tad.

Make sure all is allowed in Firewall and all UDP and TCP ports needed are open
