This is a guide, please use common sense when it comes to interpretation of this rulebook.

So yes, if someone is freekilled early on in their ST that's fine. The rule change is there to prevent abuse of giving out ST.

What about trivia ST? Does that still apply to 1-a-map, or can they get ST again if they answer a trivia question for ST first? Or does it really up to the warden at that point?

It's still 1-a-map because you can find a loophole doing that. The only case they can get ST again is if they are ST and get freekilled early in the round.
