Hey guys

I'm not trying to be irrationally critical but what happened to the no special weapons on low server pop. Our members are using special weapons like crazy when its 5v5.

I mean donner will get going without me of course but I couldn't play more than 10 minutes.

To my knowledge, it's never been a rule. Just a 'courtesy' of sorts, for lack of a better word to think of, or basically just a way to help fill the server to a appropriate number so that even the new players could enjoy playing without getting pinned to a certain part of the map by several MGs.

Only people I've seen that follow it are various members/regulars that have been around for a long time, or heard of us doing it and want to do the same.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong anyone..?

I was rifle only. But then one of the pubs on your team broke out the sniper and was playing dirty... camping dark room, camping cafe... when all of us were not even trying. I broke it out to fight fire with fire. Sorry if it hurt your feelings, it was not my intent. After he left, I went back to rifle for a bit, until I continuously got sniped and went back to it

I mess around until the pubs get serious, and then so do I. Thats just how it goes. Be thankful that it was 5v5, that normally happens 2v2

also, I know it seemed like when you got there, we had just got it started. Dredd and I stood and shot holes in the wall for ten minutes before anyone else showed up. we got a couple here and there, but we meleed and pistoled for 30-45 minutes before you arrived. The decision had been made to go weapons hot, and that is exactly what happened.

Honestly, Im not sure why you are talking about low pop server filling... Im not being mean here, but normally, you come in and pick rifle while we are meleeing and just start shooting anyway, am I right? Your rifle skills are better than most, so unwillingly, you raise the bar yourself. Just saying...

Dont get me wrong, I enjoy the challenge, but sometimes its counterproductive

It doesn't hurt my feelings, it was just as you say counter productive. I also generally don't shoot, unless someone runs at me with a knife until everyone is ready. The melee system in dods is just too bad to be taken seriously and the pistol ammo is annoying too, so in that regard no you're not right you're probably going off 1 or 2 isolated incidents, but don't get me wrong i'm not upset, it just literally seemed stupid to have 3/4 ego members on one team rockin special weaps 5v5. I also then use a rifle which is pretty much as mundane as I can make it, as my preferred class is actually support.

Its also not just yourself and not just today, The other day it was 6v6 and with the abundance of assault the few eGO members I was counting on to keep the spirit of the game fun and skill based let me down. Having 1 sniper is not so bad either, rockets and mgs with 10 players though is just not fun.

So what i'm saying is the courtesy we put in place should be insisted on a little more. Obviously its an issue or you wouldn't have posted the "rule" in the first place, and yes, the accommodation of all play styles is part of eGO however we do have our own etiquettes. If this was the sewer rule we would be quite vocal about it, so why not speak up about our other etiquette?

I totally agree. I will keep it in mind personally and try a little harder. Its tough to stay vanilla when the action is ramping up.

I do find it funny more than anything when its 4v4 and there are two mg's
